Description
Hi, I'm Alexandra. I grew up in Frederick, Maryland, USA which is a city surrounded by farmland. Frederick is ~50 miles north of Washington, DC.
Some of my favorite things include:
--reading (fiction and non-fiction),
--going to the theater and the cinema
--going for hikes - either in the woods, or doing an 'urban hike' through new cities
--doing jigsaw puzzles
--cooking and baking
--vegetables and plants! I learned how to forage many of Alaska's wild plants and would love to learn to forage in other areas/climates of the United States.
I love road trips - I've been to every single U.S. State except for Hawaii.
I'm a writer - I write travel articles and a regular op-ed column for my hometown newspaper, the Frederick News-Post.
I'm outgoing and enjoy connecting with all types of people - I've had a lot of practice working in the hospitality industry for many years as a sandwich maker, retail clerk, flight attendant, barista, secretary, bus driver (and more!). I also love time by myself, to read or hike or work on a new project. I love to have new experiences, learn new tasks and never shy away from messes.
I learned to sail in summer of 2022 so my current WorkAway goal is to get more sailing experience!
