*My full name is David William but I go by Will!*
Easy going and adaptable, I have a very good sense of humour and enjoy stimulating company. I am always keen to further open my mind and learn more about my own spirituality.

I enjoy travelling but particularly fell in love with Italy on my last motorbike trip through Europe.

My love of architecture led me to pursue a degree in Historic Building conservation. For the last three and half years, I have been working as a specialist building pathologist. I have now taken a break from this to travel - something I couldn't do in 2020 when I completed my degree.

You can see from my profile that I have a broad skill set. I really can turn my hand to most things!

I enjoy meeting new people especially those from other cultures and backgrounds. In 2017, I spent three months volunteering with Restless Development in India, teaching children and adults about health education alongside the national and international volunteer group. I really valued the friendships I made.

In 2018 and 2019, I enjoyed workaways in Italy and Sicily. For example, in Perugia, I made great friends with my host, Paulo as we worked together on the family olive groves (we still meet up!) and near Rome, I looked after animals and undertook gardening/maintenance jobs for an older host whose family I'm still in contact with.

I've now arrived in Canada - August 2024. Most of my father's family emigrated to Vancouver/VC island and I am keen to connect with the current generations. Along with seeing family, I also want to undertake workaways in areas that will allow me to explore this beautiful country more fully.

I believe I have much to offer potential hosts and look forward to forging meaningful friendships.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Very versatile - am good at turning my hand to most things. I have got a depth of experience in:
Building - helped build a house. I have a First Class degree in Historic Building conservation and have been employed by specialist Heritage company as a Building Pathologist (eg carried out repairs at The Tower of London)
Carpentry - ditto plus studied a qualification in my spare time
Painting - completed several jobs to high standard
Home maintenance - have been employed as the handy man by a letting agency
Gardening - have to repay Mum somehow!
Car/motorbike maintenance - have rebuilt a car and can undertake complex mechanical and diagnostic repairs
Animal care - I was brought up on a farm and we had a menagerie of pets and livestock!
