Will:
Hello! I've gotten the oppurtuinity to explore some beautiful countries across the globe through other volunteering programs, school abroad, and previous travel. I am always thrilled to experience a new region where culture runs deep. I love meeting new people and embrace the excitement of being in new and challenging situations. I enjoy all walks of life and find joy in everything from playing music to surfing new breaks. I am hoping to help myself by learning more while getting the chance to offer my support towards your endeavors!

Jordan:
Hi! I’m Jordan. I’m 24, originally from the Netherlands but raised in California. I graduated from Cal Poly University and since then have prioritized learning through travel and hands-on experiences. Travel has always been important to me, and right now I’m leaning into experiences that push me out of my comfort zone. I love camping, road-tripping, hiking, surfing, and anything that gets me outdoors and connected to my surroundings. I’m curious, a quick learner, and excited to contribute wherever I can, especially through meaningful work and connecting with others along the way.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Will:
I recently graduated from university with a degree in Construction Management. It was a challenging four-year journey that has provided me with a variety of skills related to general construction processes, fostering good relations, time management, and organization of labor.

I have worked and volunteered on job sites as an apprentice carpenter over the past few years allowing me to be of service on general construction projects and I am quite used to long hours of intense manual labor. I am comfortable with a wide variety of tools and machinery and I am an excellent worker under specific directions.

Additionally, I have spent the last couple of years working as a prep cook and bartender. I understand the importance of a successful hospitality business. It is worth mentioning that I am an older brother to two siblings and come from a large and connected family. I am deeply rooted in empathy and respect as I have always been treated with these fundamental traits by those that I have met along the way.

Jordan:
I’m fluent in English and Dutch and enjoy both creative and practical work. I’ve worked as a nanny for over five years, have service industry experience as a server and barista, and most recently have cared for an elderly neighbor. I’m comfortable with building and repair work – I converted my car for a cross-country road trip last year and turned a garage into a livable studio this year, installing insulation, drywall, flooring, building furniture and more. My passion lies in using my hands creatively, whether thats through photography, design, building, cooking, or music. I’m always eager to learn new skills and take on new challenges.

We love being in settings that bring people together and enjoy both intimate connections and group activities. We can spend hours playing card games, sharing stories or playing music around a fire, learning to cook new meals, or diving into new activities that come our way. We’re passionate about music, surfing, hiking, and being outdoors, and thrive when working with our hands and staying active. We are reliable, open-minded, and happy to help however we can. Through Workaway, our goal is to explore new and exciting parts of the world by experiencing them through the eyes of those who truly know and cherish these places best. Overall, we aim to connect with the people and nature around us!
