Hello! I am a gardener with 7 years of professional experience, specializing in the care and maintenance of residential and commercial gardens. I have extensive knowledge in landscaping, growing native and exotic plants, pruning, irrigation and creating sustainable green spaces.
My passion for nature and gardening has always motivated me to learn more about ecological techniques and practices. I've worked with gardening teams, but I'm also independent and organized to handle projects on my own. I believe that gardening is a way of contributing to the well-being and beauty of spaces, and I love seeing the results of my work come to life.

I'm looking for a volunteer experience that allows me to learn new techniques, contribute with my experience and be part of projects that value sustainability and care for the environment. Furthermore, I am open to helping with other tasks, always willing to learn and collaborate.

Non prendere il tempo necessario per informarsi ha causato difficoltà nell’organizzazione del lavoro quotidiano, tensioni e malintesi.

In secondo luogo, ha deciso di terminare la sua esperienza prima del periodo concordato, lasciandomi scoperta per due settimane in un momento critico per la nostra attività agricola. Questo cambiamento improvviso ha avuto un impatto significativo sulla gestione del nostro calendario e delle attività pianificate, causando incidenti e ritardi che si ripercuoteranno sul resto della stagione.

Accogliere un volontario è una responsabilità reciproca: da parte dell’host è importante creare un ambiente ospitale e chiaro; da parte del volontario, è essenziale rispettare gli accordi presi e arrivare preparati. Sono consapevole che ciò che chiedo ai volontari possa sembrare impegnativo, ma offro anche un’ospitalità di buon livello e un’esperienza ben bilanciata. Su WorkAway ci sono sicuramente host meno esigenti, ed è importante scegliere con attenzione un’opportunità che corrisponda alle proprie aspettative.

Consiglio a Welberte di essere più attento nel comunicare con futuri host, assicurandosi di leggere con cura le indicazioni fornite e poi, sicuramente di rispettare gli impegni presi. Spero lui possa fare tesoro di questa esperienza per affrontare con maggiore consapevolezza e rispetto i suoi futuri scambi. Gli auguro il meglio e lo ringrazio molto per il valido aiuto.

Welberte arrived with a kind attitude and practical skills, but unfortunately, he did not take the time to fully understand the rules and information I had shared in advance to help him prepare. These materials are meant to help volunteers organise, understand the needs of the place, and ensure smooth collaboration. Not taking the time to inform himself led to some misunderstandings, stress and challenges in organizing the daily work.

Additionally, he decided to end his stay earlier than agreed, leaving his position uncovered for two critical weeks during an important period for our agricultural activities. This unexpected change had a significant impact on our schedule and caused accidents, delays that will affect the rest of the season.

Hosting a volunteer is a shared responsibility: it’s important for the host to provide a welcoming and clear environment, and for the volunteer to respect the agreements made and arrive prepared. I am aware that what I ask of volunteers might seem demanding, but I also provide high-quality hospitality and a well-balanced experience. There are certainly hosts on WorkAway with fewer expectations, and it’s important to choose an opportunity that aligns with one’s preferences.

I hope Welberte can learn from this experience and approach his future exchanges with greater awareness and respect, and I encourage him to be more attentive in communicating with future hosts, ensuring that he carefully reads the provided guidelines and then be sure to fulfil his commitments. I wish him all the best and super thanks him for the valuable help he provided during his stay.
