Hello! Nice to meet you, my name is Verity, I am 21 years old and I live in Edinburgh, Scotland. I am half English, half Dutch. I have many interests ... i love anything to do with nature, music , reading , writing and crafting. I try to spend most of my time outside and swimming is my absolute favorite thing to do. I also love music, I sing and play guitar and I have written songs and sung in a band in Edinburgh for the past six years. I love making connections with new people, I'm an open person who enjoys learning about new cultures. I am currently planning my move to Italy, in summer I will do an Italian language course and I would love to do a workaway before in May to experience the culture. I cannot wait to get to get stuck in and experience the beauty of Italy!

I am very interested in teaching English, it is my mother tongue and I believe I would be able to teach it in a creative and engaging way. I would be interested in using music and literature to help teach the language and I am a passionate teacher who won't give up! Additionally, it's my goal to eventually move to Italy so I'm very interested in learning Italian.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Currently I am working as a carer for an elderly lady. This includes general care such as bathing, personal care, administering medications etc. I also take care of household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, ironing, pet care and plant/garden work. Additionally, I manage her admin, social calendar and I also take her on trips out of the house. This job provides me with the skills of working to someone else's schedule and building strong working relationships as we spend the majority of time one on one. I have learnt how to work under pressure and get tasks done quickly and in a compassionate way. I have been at this job for six months.

I am also very knowledgeable when it comes to music, I have been singing for 12 years and playing guitar for 10. I have been in a band for the past seven years where I have had the opportunity to play many live gigs (including in Italy), run our social media platforms and interact with many people across the music industry.

Previously I have also worked in a organic food shop in Edinburgh, this taught me customer service and I also gained extensive knowledge on organic food and healthy eating and cooking.

When I was a teenager I volunteered at a youth mental health charity for several years and this was a wonderful experience in which I was able to speak to younger children about their experiences in school.

As for education, I left high school with all As and Bs on my exams. I studied HNC social science after school and got an A. I then went to study sociology at Stirling University and left with a second at HND level. I love learning very much.

I am a very crafty person and I would love to teach knitting or crochet or generally do any crafty projects if you wish to learn. I also have dual Dutch and British citizenship so I don't need a visa to travel.
