We are Freya, Rus and Mara - GlobalTrotters

Freya is our daughter. She is now 2,5 yo and she already been in Ireland, Germany, Iceland and Sweden. She is a healthy and active child, keen to learn all new things in life. She is accustomed to being outdoors and experiencing low temperatures. One year ago she spent 2 months traveling from the west to the east of Iceland staying in a tent. Last ten months we lived in a farmhouse in eastern Iceland. She loves animals, especially horse, cats and dogs.

Rus (full name Ruslan)

He is a savvy and very active individual in spite of his age. In 1999 he completed a 2 year MBA in finance program in the US. Then worked in venture capital and various management positions both in Kiev and Moscow. In 2005 he quit his career to pursue new challenges in China. He lived in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Guangzhou mainly doing export business. Later he founded his own web company, the trade forum for Russia-China business relations. After 10+ years in China he sold his business and moved to Thailand to pursue new spiritual opportunities. He met the war there and moved with his family to Iceland where they spent the last 2 years.
 
During his life in China and Thailand he traveled extensively around the world on bicycle. He cycled 30,000+ km through Asia, Africa and Europe. He was a host in a coliving space in Shanghai through Workaway. Many times he used Couchsurfing and Warmshowers both as a host and a guest.

He has a strong zeal and appreciation for manual labor outdoors connecting with elements of nature, particularly earth and fire. He has profound knowledge in many aspects of life. He is an excellent cook and particularly good with children and animals.

Mara (Valeriya)

From a young age, I've been on a quest to understand who I am and why I am here. This journey became even more significant when I became a mother to my amazing daughter, Freya.

At the age of four, my Grandma enrolled me in a music school, sensing my high energy and potential. My educational path included studies in art, programming, public relations and social sciences, but I was often disappointed by the content. This led me to start working early. At 17, I began as a graphic design assistant in a music company and quickly advanced to PR and web project management. I wrote press releases for popular musicians and developed websites, launching my career in marketing and event organisation.

After a brief stint in a large company, I craved adventure. I met my future husband and embarked on a life-changing bicycle ride through China. This journey marked the beginning of an intense and fascinating quest, during which we traveled to over 30 countries. Our travels led us to spiritual exploration, and for six years, we delved deep into various aspects of spirituality. I led spiritual retreats and founded an online "school" that thrived for three years.

I love animals and would love to go deeper in taking care of them as well as connecting with nature and people in a giving way of service to each other.
I find physical work as life meditation and have deep motivation for it.
We are free to stay short and long term.
