Hello! My name is Valdemar and I am a 20-year-old guy from Denmark. My curiosity and excitement for seeing different parts of the world, learning about different cultures, and meeting new people, while helping others is what brought me to Workaway.

I would like to think that I am a positive and energetic guy with a "happy-go-lucky" kind of mindset. Others have described me as a talkative, easygoing, friendly, and fun person. In my professional life, I have worked a whole lot with children, as a substitute teacher (both in kindergarten and at a school) as well as a football coach. I learned through these jobs that I love working with children and have been told that I am good at being at eye height with kids.

This is the start of my second gap year and my first Workaway journey, as I have been traveling around Europe with friends and my girlfriend in my first gap year when i havent been working, after i got my high school degree, with a mayor in Mathematics and social studies in my home town of Svendborg. Therefore I think it's time I try expanding my cultural knowledge to other continents before I start studying at uni, where I look to either study Law, Journalism, or Teaching.

I am a pretty "sports-minded" person, with a particular interest in Football, which I have been playing since I was 7, and coaching since I was 14 both on a volunteer basis and part-time basis. I also enjoy tennis, basketball, padel tennis and golf. If I'm not doing something connected to sports, then you can probably find me on the couch watching a movie, reading a book or article, listening to music, or having fun with friends. I also enjoy cooking very much and love to try new and different cuisines and flavors.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I would like to say I'm good at working with kids and teaching, as someone who has worked with kids and taught a lot in my life. I am also a pretty decent self-taught cook, who is still trying to become better. I am also not opposed to manual labor. I would like to think that can tackle most obstacles, and approach them with an open mind, and think that I'm a pretty fast learner.
