Description
I am currently living in the town of Umeå in northern Sweden and studying biotechnical engineering at Umeå University. On the side of my studies I teach piano and engage in my hobbies. I enjoy reading, practicing the piano, exercising, knitting and cooking. I am driven by a curiosity and an interest to understand the world better through books as well as connecting with people through conversation.
Workaway had a significant role in my childhood. My parents ran a small hotel and hostel in the the village of Junosuando in the north of Sweden, and accepted volunteers through workaway during most of my childhood. They helped with various tasks including cooking, cleaning, gardening and looking after me and my sisters. I have many happy memories from this time. They broadened my perspective on the world and taught me many things. We played , did crafts and baked. They helped me cultivate a passion for classical piano playing and instilled in me a curiosity about the world. Even then I aspired to one day when I was old enough travel myself as they had. It seems that now I have my chance!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Piano teaching
During my teenage years I aspired to be a pianist and attended a high school which specialized in classical music. During my final year I learned piano pedagogy from my piano teacher and have since then taught piano. I have experience teaching children as well as adults and teach according to an a method which puts emphasis on learning proper technique and theory in combination with developing musicality and creativity.
Cooking
I enjoy cooking and baking and would be happy help out in the kitchen. I have been vegetarian all my life and would be happy to exchange recipes. I have also been experimenting a bit with sourdough bread over the years.
Skills in art and handicraft
I appreciate art and consider myself to have an artistic sense, although I do not actively do any visual art currently. I like doing different types of handicrafts. If you have any ongoing artistic project, I would be more than happy to help and learn.
Gardening
My parents have a diverse and flourishing garden. The past two years they have been completely self sufficient on vegetables. They inspire me and I help them sometimes when I am visiting. If you need help in your garden I would be happy to assist and learn!
Teaching
Apart from teaching piano I also taught a rudimentary math course given to engineering students during their first week of university last year. I would be happy to assist with your children's education. I am also proficient in English and Swedish and can teach you or your children.
Child care
I have some experience with children from teaching piano. If you have children I would be happy look after them or teach them things and will do my best to connect with them. However, I do not have enough experience to confidently say that I am "good" with children.
Manual labour
Although I do not have that much experience I am generally quite strong and resilient and enjoy strenuous work and getting my hands dirty.
