Hey! I'm Tiana and I've been living in Canada for the past few years now, orignially from the UK. I've spent the ast majority of my time here in beautiful BC. Most recently I've been living and working in Squamish, but now I'm looking to carry on my workaway adventure for the back-end of June and whole of July.

I've chose to come to Canada originally because of the nature and the wildlife; the scenery is like nothing I'd ever seen before. Such peace has flowed into my life whilst being so immersed in nature. I'm currently living in a tent in Banff and although I'm grateful to have the opportunity to live each day completely nomadic, I'd love a little sense of stability with am ideally longer workaway.

I love all animals, both wildlife and domesticated, and am extremely passionate about working with them. When growing up I spent a lot of time in Serbia and Croatia with my family where they kept lots of animals including ducks, chickens, goats, cats and dogs; and spent lots of time helping with them. I'm experienced particularly in larger dogs, but have lots of experience with a wide range of animals. Ideally I would LOVE to do a workaway with something very animal-centric. I have pet/house-sitting references too if needed!

Secondly, I LOVE cooking so anything within the culinary field is fantastic too. I adore experimenting and learning about new ingredients and ways of cooking. Canada has so many sustainable ways to live off the land and I would love to be shown how other people do this with foraging and fishing etc.

I'm always up for trying new things and doing stuff I haven't had the chance to before, including all types of outdoor sports activities and learning about new things.

Some other things I love are reading, self-educating and exploring.
When I have some spare time I like playing pool and having some good conversation with friends and the occasional drink too. In the winter you'll find me snowboarding in the mountains, and in the summer I'll likely be camping somewhere!

I'm very confident and have never had any issues when it comes to meeting and interacting with new people. I'm looking for someone to explore with and looking for hosts too! Extremely open-minded and believe everyone should be free to be the happiest soul they can be. Super open to road trips (anywhere), although I can't drive unfortunately, I can help split gas money and be at least a medicore source of entertainment haha.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am skilled in a multitude of areas, both within the personal and professional sectors. To begin, I'd like to highlight the fact that every job I have worked thus far I have had to communicate face-to-face with lots of different people everyday. I've had the pleasure of working alongside those from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. I am confident and outgoing, and find it comes naturally when making new friends from all walks of life.
When it comes to typical daily duties, I can clean to a very good standard and I cook with skill and ease. I cook different foods everyday and enjoy experimenting with new styles of cooking, and with different flavours and ingredients from all over the world. I have a certificate in vegetarian fine dining from Le Cordon Bleu.
I have been sewing (cross-stitching) since I was young and am quick and efficient when doing so.
I have owned pets all of my life, including dogs, cats, snakes, lizards and birds, and have a good knowledge regarding the care of each. I am passionate when it comes to working with animals and learning new things about them. I look forward to being able to experience the wildlife that resides in Canada in a closer proximity.
Although I may lack experience when it comes to hands-on work such as building, I am a hard-working individual and am very eager to learn all that you are willing to teach me!
Additionally, I am cocktail trained and am able to look after a bar with confidence. I have spent many years waitressing and bar-tending, and am able to do so comfortably. Most recently I work as the assistant general manager of a restaurant.
Before travelling to Canada, I worked in the Finance sector, specialising in Pensions and undertook some exams to further my knowledge and experience. This is something I aim to work a full-time career in once I have travelled more extensively
I am also fluent in both English and Serbo-Croat, and would be willing to assist in teaching either of these to those who are willing to learn.
