Hii!!

I'm Maria, I'm a 21 years old film student in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

I can say that nature and art are the two places where I feel most at home. I love creating anything: from a small, diy project to a full scale artistic instalation - anything to pour my heart into brings enormous joy. I love wandering around the mountains, taking in everything this earth has to offer.

Generally, I'm a very curious person. The reason why I love film is because of the stories: I like listening to people tell me their loves, losses, their fears or their hopes. I find every single human so interesting, with all our complexities or contradictions. In my trips, I would want to connect with people, bring myself to be vulnerable and spread love. I feel like our society doesn't aknowledge how important love is - in all of its forms, and how peaceful we could live if only we would accept that we all need to help each other in order to thrive.

Even though my university is now an artistic one, science is one of my other interests. Previously, I also started medical school, which I will continue next year. I would want to learn more about holistic practices, and bring that knowledge back in Romania, where people are still pretty skeptical about alternative medicine.

As it starts maybe to show from my description, my interests are very broad. Some others that have a special place in my heart are pottery, poetry and yoga. Even though I'm a very active person, I try to allow myself to live a 'slow' life, be mindful about what and how I consume, bring help where is needed, enjoy the moment and stop this constant capitalist rush for material stuff.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Cooking. When I was little, I wanted to become a cook. I started with desserts and made my way up to more complicated dishes. My current obsession is indian food, but I love experimenting with other plant based cuisines. Cooking is for me a place where I can let go of my worries and concentrate on experimenting in order to create a delicious and nurturing meal.

Gardening. My parents have a small cottage near the city, with a garden where each year we plant what we think we would like to have that year: rucola, raddish, onion, tomatoes and so on. I like the feeling of growing your own food, the satisfaction of seeing the whole process: from the seed to your plate.

Arts&Crafts. I love DIY-ing, I've been setting up my school exhibition and been on the decor team for a local art festival. As I mentioned, I'm really into pottery, I feel like that is the sweet spot between art and usefulness, but I'm also into taking photos and videos.

Organization. I've produced or co-produced my films, which means organizing my team, the schedule, and ensuring the communication is gentle and efficient, everybody is satisfied in what they're doing.
