  • Description

Hello Everyone, I'm Tallulah, I'm 19 years old and come from a small town on the south coast of the UK. I'm currently engaged in a year of travel and adventure. I'm passionate about travel and gaining new experiences and exploring new cultures. I have seen quite a bit of the world growing up but this is my first solo endeavour and I'm loving it! I've started my trip in South America and have, so far, been to Peru and Bolivia, I am currently in Chile, Argentina will be next!

Plus de détails sur les langues qui m'intéressent
I feel it is important to speak with locals on their own language. Therefore, looking to improve my Spanish is a priority to me. I look to learn the basics of any place I visit. Which I feel I have done with Spanish, however I have a lot more to learn.

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Although I'm still pretty young I have a fair bit of work experience under my belt as from 15 I have worked in hospitality in various front-of-house roles - waitress, barmaid, running a small food kiosk and working in an ice-cream store! As most of these concessions were quite small, I often worked on my own or in a supervisory role and always had brilliant feed-back from my managers and clients. My final job, which was in a local pub/restaurant, was really full-on - very busy with lots of covers - and I took pride in my ability to get the job done, remain calm and give our clients a lovely dining experience. I loved the sense of being part of a team and all pulling together to get the service just right.
Also, from age 16, I have worked at the stables where I myself learned to ride, from the age of 7. I love being around horses and have a great rapport with them. I have worked hard to become a knowledgeable riding teacher and being part of the busy riding school has been fairly central to my life for most of my life. Attending and working at the stables really instilled me with a level of confidence I may not otherwise have had, it has made me outgoing and determined and able to talk to people from all walks of life.
As well as being mad about horses, I pretty much love all animals. We had bucket-loads of bunnies, hamsters, guinea pigs and chickens growing up, and, in the last five years we've also had a family dog - which was a dream come true for me! I would often take my dog (Winnie) out and also did some dog walking and pet sitting for other people - being out and about in nature with a horse or a dog really is my happy place.
Also out in nature, I've helped out a family friend who runs a gardening company. I've been given weeding, planting and shovelling duties - and gained a little bit of botanical knowledge along the way. I am absolutely not afraid of hard work and from mucking out at the stable to carrying heavy trays of drinks to shovelling piles of wood-chip in my gardening job I'm happy to get my hands dirty and help out.

I've got lots of childcare experience from babysitting when I was younger, to teaching young riders at the riding school and I'm very happy in the company of children and able to feedback to their parents, too.
I've got A Levels in dance, sociology and film studies and have 9 GCSEs including maths and English. I also have a full, clean driving licence and two years of driving experience - including the quad-buggy at the stables.
I am professional, polite and confident, happy to have a go and keen to learn new skills. I'm looking forward to being part of a volunteer community and building on experiences I've already had and making the most of my time abroad by really engaging in the opportunities that may become available to me.
