Hola! I'm Sophie, a 30 year old farmer from Germany. I'm a calm, open-minded, creative person with a huge love for nature. Something that brings me a lot of joy is when I can take part in exchanging knowledge and stories between people of different cultures. Some more passions of mine are singing, finding new foods to try, physical and mental health...:)

Growing up on an organic farm I have always loved spending lots of time outdoors surrounded by all kinds of animals. After studying biology and agriculture in different cities I decided I wanna get my hands dirty again and learn how to grow vegetables professionally. So I moved to a big ecovillage community and did an apprenticeship to become a gardener. Since last year I'm living in Freiburg and working in a community supported agriculture (CSA). This motivates me every day because I can help to grow tasty healthy food for my fellow humans while also protecting all the other species in our ecosystem.

Last year I visited Andalusia for the first time using workaway and it was the best experience ever! I'm on workaway because I'm hoping to connect with people in the places I'm visiting instead of just traveling through, and I would love to give something back by sharing my skills and workforce.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have plenty of experience with growing vegetables from start to finish, using machines, manual tools or hands, and a little bit with growing flowers and planting trees, Of course, I'm used to manual labour outdoors in all kinds of weather and don't get tired easily. I also have some basic skills in repairing and working with wood. As an apprentice, I was learning new things everyday, so I can easily adapt to new situations and find creative solutions for any problems that come up.
Living in concious communities for the past few years has taught me much about self development, communication, common decision making processes and helpful systems to get organised together.
During my time as an Au-Pair in New Zealand, and also while babysitting my little nephews, I have gained lots of experience with taking care of the little ones. I'm also good and fast with doing chores around the house like cooking, cleaning, baking.
