Kia ora! Hello!
We’re Shelby and Jonty — a couple from Aotearoa New Zealand. We’re both hands-on, creative people with a shared love for nature, practical skills, and learning about different ways of life.

Jonty is a curious, inventive person who loves building things with his hands. He spends his free time designing functional everyday objects and brings them to life through 3D printing and woodworking. He’s especially interested in insects, fungi, and sustainable living, and hopes to one day build a permaculture farm for our future family. He’s keen to pick up skills related to regenerative practices, gardening, and general outdoor work like firewooding and farm maintenance. He’s a quick learner, enjoys problem-solving, and makes a mean meal when the time comes.

Shelby is a creative with over 10 years of professional experience in painting, wallpapering, and plastering. She’s passionate about conservation, community wellbeing, and living in tune with the environment. Her travels to the subantarctic have inspired her jewelry-making practice, which is rooted in a deep love of nature. Shelby enjoys connecting with people, learning from locals, and getting stuck into hands-on tasks. She brings a practical skillset, a positive attitude, and a real interest in learning from different ways of life.

We’re travelling with the intention of gaining new perspectives, learning new skills, and contributing meaningfully along the way. We’re happy to help with a range of tasks — from gardening and household maintenance to painting, cooking, or anything that needs an extra pair of hands.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a fast learner, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently. I'm happy to help with outdoor tasks like gardening, farming, firewooding, or general maintenance. I can also cook some tasty meals . I like working hard, staying focused, getting things done and picking up new skills along the way.

I have multiple years of practical experience in plant pest management and biosecurity. I've also worked as a science technician in the past and am pretty good with technology and computers.

We both value being physically active - we like bike riding, rock climbing, surfing, fishing and freediving.
