Hiya I'm Sofie! I'm 22 years old and have lived most of my life in the Netherlands, though besides Dutch, I also speak French and English fluently :) I’ve just finished studying at Leiden University in The Netherlands, focusing on using immersive tech in education and psychology, and now I’m onto a new adventure by doing a gap year in New Zealand! Being creative, playful and finding my own non-standard path in life are things I value greatly and try to implement in every aspect of what I do. This means I am also a very resourceful and "go with the flow" kind of person.

I have an unending curiosity for what life has to offer and love meeting new people from whom I can learn about other areas of the world and of life. At the same time, I myself am also a very open and bubbly person with many of my own stories and experiences to share.

I love being adventurous and living in the moment, learning new skills, and grounding myself in nature. And besides this, some of my interests also include creative and nature therapy, spirituality, herbalism, meditation and sustainable living.

I grew up trilingual and find myself very intrigued by other languages, specifically I would love to learn more Japanese and Spanish. Besides that, I can also help beginners with learning Dutch, French or English.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am hard-working, easily adapt to different situations, find creative solutions to problems, and am eager to learn new things and teach others what I already know.

Good communication with others also comes naturally to me, leading to much experience in interpersonal work from volunteering at an elderly home, working as a youth mental health aide and with groups of young children in a teaching capacity, and doing research with vulnerable participants.

Besides this, I speak Dutch, French and English fluently and could help people learn these languages. Also, I have much experience in working in and around the house, including gardening, painting, cleaning, cooking and baking, tech support, and some simple building projects.

Growing up with an artistic mom, I have quite the knack for everything crafts, sewing, photography, drawing and most definitely folding origami cranes, which I will happily teach others :) I also love experimenting with new things, which led to me making my own mead (a type of wine made from honey).

I have a passion for theatre and creative writing such as poetry, and would happily be involved with projects around this or to introduce people to this world. Or if anyone would want to know more about martial arts, I do kickboxing, which has taught me more about self defence and inner balance!
