Hi there! I'm Sarah from Osnabrück, Germany, and I'm currently studying to become an elementary school teacher.
My friends often describe me as an adventurous person who is easy to get along with. I would describe myself as a reliable, polite person, and always ready to lend a helping hand.

Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to do a Workaway with a dear friend of mine. We spent our time on a charming farm in Ecuador. It was an enriching experience, allowing me to embrace tasks that are far from my everyday university life. From planting cacti to caring for animals such as horses, dogs, chickens, and bees, each moment was a rewarding learning opportunity. Working with animals was particularly fulfilling for me since I have a deep love for them.

Additionally, I love to work with children, that’s one of the reasons for my studies. I did several internships through which I could already gain experience in teaching. One of the most memorable experiences was an internship abroad, which provided me with an exceptional opportunity. This experience allowed me to engage with children who spoke a different mother tongue, broadening my perspective and enhancing my ability to communicate effectively across cultures. It was a truly rewarding experience that further fueled my dedication to working with diverse groups of children.

I have no known allergies, and I follow a vegetarian lifestyle. In my free time, you'll often find me dancing to the beats of Hip Hop and Salsa or trying to catch a wave.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As a student studying to become an elementary school teacher, I have developed strong skills in working with children. I have also worked with children before my studies: I worked voluntarily in an elders home and helped giving gymnastics and dancing classes for kids. I know various teaching methods tailored to individual students, thanks to my experience gained through diverse internships and studies.

I’m very creative and like to do DIYs as in creating decorations.
I moved to my university town so I’m practiced in looking after myself and managing daily tasks efficiently. My last solo travel trip has also contributed a lot to this.

Dancing has been an important part of my life since the age of 7, and I have achieved success by winning competitions with my HipHop dance group. It brings me immense joy and fulfillment.

Caring for animals comes naturally to me, as I have acquired a deep understanding of their needs through caring for my own pets, including a dog. My recent Workaway experience on a farm provided me with valuable insights into various animals such as dogs, cats, horses, bees, and chickens. Additionally, I have gained substantial experience in horse riding throughout my childhood.

In addition to my experience with animals, I have also dedicated a significant amount of time to working with plants during my Last Workaway. I have taken on the responsibility of nurturing and maintaining various plants, as well as sowing new vegetables. This hands-on experience has allowed me to develop a green thumb.
