Hello! Our names are Sammy and Evan. We are from the United States and we have been together for two years.

We are adventurous, enthusiastic, and outgoing! We also love to be active outdoors! In our free time, we both love to camp, hike, ski, read, and cook. We are very social and enjoy meeting new people.

We also love to travel! Since being together, we have been on countless camping trips and road trips. We traveled to Hawaii and traveled all over Europe. Also, we spent 10 months teaching English in Spain in public schools. It was an amazing experience! Now, we are eager to get back to traveling the world and experiencing new places, cultures, and people.

We are both committed to continuing to learn Spanish. We love to travel to meet new people, experience new cultures, and learn about history from locals. We strongly believe the best way to learn about the world is to experience it and cannot wait to continue to do so!

We learned about Workaway from a friend who has used it in Europe, Asia, and now Australia and we thought it was the perfect opportunity to travel to new places and have a more immersive, local experience. Neither of us have been involved in a work away before, though we have worked abroad to teach English and traveled abroad for volunteer trips. We cannot wait for all the opportunities that await us and all the new experiences we are going to have.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Sammy : I have a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish. I also studied biology and medicine. I have work experience in many different areas; I was a English as a second language teacher in Spain for 10 months working with ages 11 to 17. I have worked as a nanny with younger children ages 3 to 9. I worked in the medical field for over a year and a half as a medical assistant in a bilingual (Spanish and English) dermatology clinic. I have over 5 years experience working in food service including serving, bartending, and food preparation. I have hundreds of hours of volunteer hours fostering young, sick, and injured animals. I also volunteered on a biology and ecology project in Costa Rica with leatherback sea turtles.

Evan : I have a bachelor's degree in accounting and information systems with two years of work experience as an auditor. During university I worked as a fútbol referee for two years. I have childcare experience. I worked as an English assistant teacher for 9 months with students ages 5 to 11. I have a beginner to intermediate level of Spanish. I have experience working as a delivery driver and I have a valid US driver's license.

Sammy: I love animals! Like really love them. I grew up with lots of pets and still spent time in the woods catching snakes and lizards because I wanted more. In university, I fed of all the stray cats in the area and let them in my house (and on my bed) on cold nights. If there are animals around, I will be playing with them! I also really love the outdoors and the environment. Almost every hobby I have relates to being outside. I am passionate about taking action to take care of the environment and learning new ways to live more eco-friendly. I am very into science, especially biology, anatomy, and anything nature related.

Evan: I don’t have experience working as a bartender or cook but I love cooking and making drinks with my friends for fun! I really enjoy the outdoors. And I love to learn and to try new things!
