Hello!! I'm Rui from Portugal.
I started to work when I was 17 years old, studied Marketing and Management after working hours, then I’ve married and had 2 sons. I've built my career in the Pharmaceutical Industry in very different areas, starting as a Sales representative and finishing as Managing Director. It was very challenging, very demanding but also very rewarding.
Professionally or on holidays, I had the chance to travel a lot across the world, South Africa, Brazil, India, USA, Caribbean Islands, and across Europe just to give a few examples. But I never had the chance to do what people do when you are a teenager, like traveling alone, with no fixed agenda, make new friends and take the time to really enjoy and appreciate the moment.
My family, and friends say there’s a time to do each thing, and that I’m not a teenager and I should do things that are more “appropriate” for my age 😂😂 . Well, I disagree. I believe that we can do whatever we want, at any moment of our life, if we have the mood and energy to do it. I am 56 but in a lot of things I still feel that I am 17.
Recently, for 4 years I have been the Commander of the volunteer local fire department. Last year, March 2022, for 3 weeks I have been in Poland close to the Ukrainian border doing volunteer work with people running from the war and managing to their transportation and accommodation in Portugal, and during the rest of the year, already in Portugal, giving all kind of support for their integration at all levels.
Because I have worked all my life with high stress levels, even that I have no reasons now to have any kind of stress, I find difficult to find the calm and relaxation that I need. So, now that I have the freedom to manage my agenda, there’s a lot of things that I still want to do. I look forward to meeting new people, new cultures, and new adventures. See you soon 😊

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am very versatile, I love cooking, gardening, doing outdoor tasks, and even not being expert in the following areas, I can help as plumber, electrician, artificial irrigation for gardens and crops, house maintenance, take care of farm animals…. I can also help with the daily tasks as cleaning or cooking. I love animals and I'm used to take care of dogs and cats so I can help pet sitting.
If you have a small business or you're starting one, due to my professional background, I can help to build a business plan, create a selling and marketing strategy, create workflows, profit and loss scenarios, forecasting and most of the things related to a business.
