Description

Hey there! My name is Rae, & I’m currently engaging in a year of travel, seeking to embody, participate in, and learn from communities who are creating other ways of being in their daily lives. For me, this looks like engaging with work-trades in places that focus on things like farming, ecovillages, and earth-based spiritualities. I’ve decided to opt out of the wage-bondage economy for this year, acknowledging the profound privilege it takes to do so, and move forward with humility and gratitude on this quest.

I’m seeking to help build and support sustainable food systems centering on climate disaster and intentional communities in North and South America to learn as much as I can. I’m deeply interested in learning about food systems based upon agroforestry and syntropy, as well as general hard skills related to regenerative agriculture, construction, herbalism, and beekeeping. I’ve really enjoyed immersing myself in other communities and learning about their cultures and ideologies surrounding their alternative lifestyles, and I’m super excited to continue this momentum!

Fun fact: at one farm I worked at this spring, I milked goat milk straight from the goat into my coffee, and it was the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have experience working on various farms with plants, trees, and animals, and my time on these farms spanned from seed to harvest to processing. I’m a passionate and fast learner - I take notes on everything and fill journals with the new information I absorb!
I've worked with goats and chickens, fields and greenhouses, homesteads and gardens, and have done winter prep such as wood splitting and stacking.
