Description
Hey, I’m Diane (like Twin Peaks Diane or the Bojack Horseman Diane, depending on the day) and I’m incredibly keen on making new experiences. In the world where doubt is common and stability is hardly ever a thing, I have reached a mindset of not just accepting change, but diving straight into it. Whenever it is up to me, this change is always related to travelling. After a few experimental trips, I found that the environment of roaming without a particular plan is where I thrive most, so inspired by this I'm going to get the most of such situations while giving back to communities and individuals as much as I can. I value unconditional exchange above all and believe in making peace. It is the goal that I'm after :-)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
The process of the work is usually more important to me than its outcome, so given the right circumstances(of which simple friendliness and a nice meal will suffice!), and your willingness to teach - I’d be glad to lend a hand or two!
🐴What I do have a vast experience in is horses. They are at the core of my life’s passion and own at least a part of my heart. This being said, I always keep their best interests in mind and believe in enabling them to live as freely as possible. I was taught English riding, but through long list of reading, observation and a few very precious mentors along the way - I’ve come to appreciate a mix of movements that do not require one to be on the horse to communicate with it. Among them Parrelli and the whole concept of Natural Horsemanship. Lately, I’ve been also invested in liberty, which only proves that through this path you are bound to keep discovering yourself. The journey never stops…
- I’ve previously workawayed at horse trekking lodges mainly feeding/cleaning/handling the horses;
- animal sanctuaries, where apart from feeding/handling, assisted in tending to a wound. Daily prep of individual meals and general maintenance of the facilities in both places;
- I’ve had a mare of my own before, so am familiar with the tasks that come with taking care of these animals;
- could assist in groundwork and building a relationship with your horse.
🐈⬛🐐🐕🐖🐓🐇Of courses horses is not all there is to the joy of life! I’ve been intermittently taking care of chickens, a goat, piggies, bunnies, dogs and CATS whenever an opportunity arose. I grew up with dogs and am now responsible for “training” one (giving it my absolute best haha) so it is an area I am looking to be fluent in! Though, I can say that I possess enough knowledge to be responsible for such tasks and would be happy to receive a similar opportunity!
🪵🎨🪓Apart from animals of all kinds, I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty outside. I love the air and would like to spend as much time as I can among the lush greenery and high rocks - it makes me feel free:-)
- I have recently tried my hand at carpentry, which I thoroughly enjoyed and so would love to progress further in this field. I was working in a group and was assigned tasks such as cutting, sanding and painting the wood. I've also helped to insulate an attic.
- I've been responsible for maintaining the good looks of the properties I stayed at, and while here I mean specifically the cleaning - decoration and beautifying is something I could definitely contribute to, as I used to be at constant work on various(canvas and paper) painting projects and some of them are still ongoing. I would love an opportunity to create a mural!

Autres infos...
I do landscape/ animal/ sports photography in what I would describe as an “Impressionism” style. It’s all amateur things, but I still try :)
Music is one of my favorite things about life. I tried taking up guitar back in 2020 and have learned quite a few songs since then.. Would be happy to learn more instruments and am in AWE of people who can just pick up an instrument and go crazy with it!
2024 update: got a third guitar and it's finally the right one, named her Marnie and am now collecting bonfire songs to entertain the folk. The last count is well above 15 :)
I also love hiking. Having been based in the Scottish Highlands for over a year now, whenever it is that I DO choose to willingly return to the civilisation and bigger cities- running back into the wild (would add a Chris McCandless footnote here if I could) is the ultimate and simultaneous escape and revert to what feels most natural and right to me. Whenever, wherever. Love taking note of the volume going down the farther away I go. On foot is always my preferred way of seeing the world, as I try to be intentional when surrounded by nature, in case of which societal constructions are often excessive. For this reason, I am a proponent of John Muir's preferred term "sauntering" and now that you've reached this far I will refrain from using "hiking" any longer ;). I want to start taking more time to be in the moment, use all the senses we were given, and just feel.
After all this time choosing the forest over the ocean, I've been getting myself into water sports, of which surfing is a rather big passion of mine. One of the truths I’ve discovered for myself is that open water is THE gateway/ recharge point for when you need to reconnect with a part of yourself that you’ve lost or forgotten. In comparison, the hills and the woods are where you seek out/ learn about the new parts of your being, things you didn’t know were to be found to begin with. Can confirm the living can be made successful according to this principle 👍 The soul needs the fluctuation of both.
Living in the mountains, I picked up snowboarding - so now the holy trinity of board sports is complete (skating, surfing and boarding)!
I consider myself a team-player, though some alone time to explore and unwind is a necessity to me. I am all down to work in a tight knit circle of lively and talkative people, and I would gladly join in with the sitting down and engaging in a discussion, but a simple book (I'm always starting/continuing/or finishing a book) and a solitude getaway is just as important to me in order to recharge my brain. I think this is an advantage, as I don't require constant entertainment and am happy to think of my own schedule. Even so, nurturing connections is something I'd like to dedicate more of my time to - meeting new people is one of many joys of travelling, after all:-)
