Description

Hi! Our names are Pim and Sera (both 33 years old and from the Netherlands) and currently on our way to South Africa and beyond! Pim recently quit his job and Sera currently works a couple of hours a week as a freelance business IT analyst. After years of saving up we bought an old 4x4 and installed a rooftoptent on it. Our plan is to drive from our hometown Rotterdam in the Netherlands to South Africa.

We both like to travel, meet new people and to experience new cultures and food. We love being outdoors, to hike, to cycle, and a couple of years a go we felt in love with surfing. Allthough sometimes it seems like surfing didn't felt in love with us, just floating around in the ocean feels like the best place for us to be! Besides all of this we also like to chill, and enjoy nature just out of our camping chairs.

Before we cross the Mediterranean Sea next autumn we like to see more of Portugal and Spain. Allthough we like to travel, we also like to commit to a place for a longer period of time and enjoy local life, local food and learn new skills.

We especially like to meet people, who found an alternative way of life. One that is closer to nature, and like to learn from them by helping out. Workaway seems the perfect place to find such an experience!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Pim was raised in the country side, used to deal with animals and worked on the land helping with the harvesting of vegetables. As a student he worked a long time in a coffeeshop in Rotterdam. Preparing drinks, helping customers and cleaning up. He never worked in a restaurant but Ioves to cook, preferably with the vegetables harvested out of our own vegetable garden in Rotterdam.

I (Sera) is the handy person of the two of us. I helped all of my friends and family out with DIY chores and probably and up as the mechanic of the two when our 4x4 decides to make life hard for us. I also worked in a hotel, and I am familiar with catering and cleaning. Besides that I also loves to work in the vegetable garden we had together. Currently I work as a freelancer in the IT but I can manage my own time so I am definitely able to fully commit to a work exchange. And maybe i can use my knowledge to help people with building websites or with their computer problems.

We both are sociable, like to bo active, and are enthusiastic to learn new things.
