Hi!
I'm Patrick, 39 years old and a professional, trained waitor (but not always working in that profession), "commis de bar" (sounds nice, but it's just a bar clerk with certificate) and an enthusiastic hobby chef. I got experiences ranging from a small country inn to a big hotel chain in Berlin... but I also already was working in a butchery as well as in a big office.
I'm always interested in learning and experiencing new things and skills and I'm really a quick learner.
Grew up in the countryside, playing in the woods, building little shelters, helping my partents with their garden and doing occasional garden maintenance to stock up the pocket money in the summer holidays.

I know how to work hard and am an open, pretty demandless person.
My hobbies are music, art and travelling, as I play the guitar, bass, double bass, mandolin, do some producing and recording (on a hobby level) and like painting, creative work in general and photography.

I'm glad I discovered Workaway and I'm happy and excited to get some new experiences, travel around and meet new people!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- Since I have a gastronomic education, I am familiar with all tasks in the area of ​​cleanliness and housekeeping (washing, ironing/mangling, wiping/vacuuming, cleaning, polishing, kitchen work,...)
- I enjoy cooking for more people than myself. I'm not a vegetarian, but I'm willing to be persuaded
- I don't have professional crafting skills, but I'm not clumsy and I know how to use most common tools. I once built a birdhouse and, under guidance, a small stool with a drawer. I have also made sculptures out of soapstone, clay and plaster.
- I can do general garden maintenance, climb trees, get my hands dirty, pretty much any gardening job actually
- I'm a good learner and always interested in new tasks
- If you`ve got any instruments we can jam together :)

Autres infos...

In 2023 I earned my spurs as a Workaway in Italy. From Piedmont all the way down to Sicily, I sanded floors, removed, applied, moved and sifted soil, cooked, painted, cleaned, arranged, tidied up, laid out beds, built a corrugated iron roof and harvested almonds.
Update 2025: beside chicken, ducks and geese I now also took care of pigs, goats and rabbits, as well as of 30 cats.

I'm a slightly quieter person, open-minded, like to read [I'm currently catching up on the Harry Potter series, which I (yes, shame on me) had never read until now], listen to and make music (almost all genres), go to concerts, love nature and always try to spend as much time as possible in it, I like to hike and am pretty good by feet
