Description
Hello everyone! We are Nina (23) and Simon (25), a relaxed and outgoing couple from a small town in Germany that loves to meet new people and learn about other cultures.
Nina did her Bachelor in International Business focusing on Sustainability in Finland and Simon finished his Bachelor in Industrial Engineering specialising in Environmental Engineering in the Netherlands.
After finishing our studies and working in Environmental Management (Nina) and Project Management (Simon) for some time, we decided that we want to take a break and travel South East Asia for 6-7 months. We were dreaming about this trip for over a year already as we couldn’t wait to try the Asian cuisine, hike the beautiful nature and get to know the charming people we have heard so much about!
Both of us have already done a working holiday in Australia for a year. Nina worked as an Au Pair in three different families with children from various ages and really loved the cultural exchange with the host families.
Simon did a year of work and travel, during which he worked in construction and also on farms for multiple months.
Both of us had an amazing experience and enjoyed working with people from different cultures a lot, which motivated us to do a Workaway.
During the Workaway we hope to personally grow and have a rewarding experience. We want to learn new skills and have an enriching cultural exchange!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
We are both fluent in German and English, speak a little Dutch and Spanish and are always curious to learn new languages!
We have had different jobs in our hometown since we were young.
Nina has tutored in English, Maths and Business Administration for years. She has also written articles for a local newspaper, worked as a babysitter and worked in a bakery with higher responsibilities. She is very adaptable to different jobs and always gives her best, putting her all into every task.
Simon has taught English and Maths, worked in a supermarket and coached children at a local sports club. What makes Simon stand out is that he always enjoys taking responsibility and doing physical work such as working in the garden or fixing things around the house.
As described above, we have developed a strong interest and expertise in sustainability during our studies and careers. We believe that through our knowledge and passion for sustainability, we can make a significant contribution, whether by implementing environmentally friendly practices or by promoting sustainable lifestyles. We also complement our commitment by cooking new and varied vegetarian dishes that contribute to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.
We are extremely motivated to learn and try new things and always do our best. The wide variety of jobs has taught us to keep an open mind and to adapt to a new environment quickly. We believe that we are a great team and that our skills complement each other nicely. This makes us the perfect addition for any host!

Both of us love game and cooking nights and are keen to try new board games and recipes. At home Nina enjoys swimming and socialising while Simon likes to play handball and ride the bike with friends.
During the Workaway we are looking forward to the social exchange with the hosts and other travellers. We would also love to learn new hobbies such as meditation, yoga or surfing, but are open for anything!
