Available to help beginning July, 2024.

I'll be a member of the karma yoga program at the Yasodhara Ashram in May/June. Afterwards, I'd like to base myself in and around Nelson, where I lived off-and-on for several years from 2009-2014.
My wish is to help with several hosts as I establish a community for myself in and around Nelson.

I have much experience with volunteering and work-exchanges through wwoof, house and pet-sitting, and personal arrangements.

I'm a big fan of sharing and helping. I offer myself plenty of opportunities to give and to receive. Money isn't the highest of priorities. I am rich because of my volunteer experiences.

Whether I'm getting paid or not, I work just as hard and want to do a good job. I'll catch on to your systems quickly and I am reliable.

I am outgoing and sociable, though also appreciate a balance of quiet and alone time to recharge.

I don't have a car, nor do I drive. I am resourceful with public transit, hitching, rideshares, and cycling. I will not feel isolated in remote locations nor will I be an extra burden on hosts, not having car. Of course, I'd welcome opportunities to jump in on rides into town and also assist on any such trips.

I'm keen to get involved in community initiatives outside of the specific helpx duties. Sports, music, volunteer work, etc.

Some of my past experiences:

* Many seasons of organic farming work with various farms. Seedlings, Bed-prep, Transplanting, Weeding, Watering, Harvesting, Washing, Packing, Greenhouses, High Tunnels, Market vending.

* Maple and birch syrup work.

* Basic construction work: especially useful as a number 2 with someone who knows what they're doing.

* Enjoy wood-splitting and stacking.

* Manager and staff at a Nature Hostel.

* English as a second language volunteer teacher.

* Musical performer. Singing, guitar, percussion.

* Special event promoter (especially music related).
