Hey, I'm Mirjam from Austria:)

I'm currently living in the north of Portugal for one semester doing an Erasmus exchange. Before moving back to Vienna to finish my Masters in Material Chemistry I'd love to go on another adventure.

My best friend Ella who lived in Stockholm for the past semester fell in love with sweden. She totally infected me with her enthusiasm about the it's nature and people and old handcrafts and traditional dances. We'll be spending a few weeks in the north together in February and we are excited to find a cozy and welcoming workaway experience for that time and feel the unique nature of the north.

I'm very interested in learing new languages, especially when I'm in the coutry where the language is spoken:) I've never tried to teach someone a language but I can imagine to teach someone German or English.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I love spending the day outside, wandering around, exploring the things nature gifts us. I really enjoy working with my hands and I was part of a community garden project in Vienna. Together with friends we built a bench and a table and beds to plant vegetables and flowers. It's so satisfiying for me to work on a project together with lots of helping hands , seeing it evolve and even harvesting a little cucumber in the end:)

My mother tongue is German and I'm fluent in English. I know a bit of French as I learned it in school and worked in a restaurant France for a few weeks. In my Erasmus stay in Portugal I picked up some Portuguese over the last months.

I'm a very active person and I love moving together with other people (hiking, biking, ball games, surfing, slacklining). I've been working as a skiing instructure and as a volleyball instrucutre for kids.

Being around people is was really makes me happy. Getting to know how they live and what they think about and what moves them. I live in a shared flat with two very close friends and ceating yummy meals, trying new recipes and of course eating together is one of my main passions:) I've always been working as a waitress in different restaurants (hotels, catering at weddings ect.) I'm very excited to learn new recipes and share mine of course!

Cooking is kind of like chemistry only without tasting... Next to my studies I've been working as a tutor in university. I also did an internship in a company (Claro) where they are trying to produce more sustainable dishwashing tabs and washing powder. That's how I want to use my skills as a chemist in the future, to find more sustainable solutions. I'm extremely curious to getting to know different ways of living and trying to live reciprocal with nature.

I've also been working as a cleaning lady and in a laundry company, although this was more for money than for going after my passions:)

I love to learn new things, sports, instruments , languages or crafts. At the moment I'm veeerryy thrilled about knitting and crocheting and I'd love to learn knew techniques and just being creative.

I really like music, I love listening to people play and also doing music together or dancing to it. I learned how to play the piano and I'm trying to learn the guitar to play along at a bonfire:)
