Hello, my name is Mia. I am 23 years old. I live in the south of Germany, in the beautiful city of Freiburg, where I have been studying English and Biologie to hopefully be a teacher one day.

I have always enjoyed spending a lot of time outside surrounded by nature and have developed a great passion for gardening in the last few years. Although, Living in a city this is mostly on my balcony or in our local community garden. Every now and then it feels good to get out of the city and be fully surrounded by nature, which is why I like doing workaways. I have learned a lot through my past workaway experiences and am eager to learn even more about various gardening practices or other skills.

Traveling and meeting new people are some of my biggest passions.
My parents are German/American, so I spent the first portion of my life living in the US. When we moved to Germany, I was fascinated by many different cultures around me in Europe. I have found that workaway is an amazing and authentic way to connect with locals and learn more about a culture.

Other than traveling I spend my free time swimming, cycling, reading, hiking, cooking or playing board games with friends. My friends describe me as easy going, caring and fun to be around.
I am independent and don’t mind accomplishing tasks alone, but I also enjoy working together with others. My grandparents were winegrowers and had their own forest, so I am used to helping out when help is needed. I have a few skills like sewing, gardening, basic woodworking but I am interested in learning more. But most importantly, I am hard-working and don't mind getting my hands dirty!
I also have quite a bit experience working with children and young adults. I usually spend part of my summer holidays helping out at a local summer camp. I have also recently started tutoring and babysitting.

I have had wonderful workaway experiences in the past and have met many amazing people. I am really excited for all the workaways to come!

I am willing to do many types of work...
I can sew, cook, and do general work and maintenance around the house. I also have a fairly large knowledge of gardening, because I have a garden at home.

In my school vacations, I‘ve spent a lot of time working at children's summer camps. Because of this, I can interact well with children and I would be able to teach them English and German.
