I fell in love with traveling at the age of 16 when I first went abroad on a choir trip to Canterbury, England; it turned my world upside down in the best possible way, and since then it has been a lodestar throughout my life. Over the past decade I have spent two summers in Europe, half a year backpacking India and Southeast Asia, and have traveled to Mexico and Ecuador.

I’m from the Midwest of the USA originally, where I also attended university, graduating with a B.A. in English Literature and a minor in Spanish at Indiana University. Since graduating I’ve mostly worked in the service industry as a waitress and bartender, a social position which has allowed me to pursue my love of writing and travel and enjoy myself while doing so.

My previous Workaway experiences include various positions in hostels in Spain and the US (working reception, leading walking tours and pub crawls, maintaining social media accounts) as well as teaching English to children, adolescents and adults in a homestay outside of Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. Additionally I filmed and edited a promotional mini-documentary for Saksham NGO while traveling in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

I spent a few months working on a farm in Southern Oregon, which ignited my interest in gardening and sustainable homesteading. I'm also a skilled photographer and videographer, adept with both Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I have a diverse array of interests and am always looking to make new friends and learn new skills. :)
