Hey I'm Matthew, and I'm on a gap year after having just finished my Masters degree in the UK. In 2023 I moved to Germany for work and it was the best year of my life, making new friends and navigating a different way of life. I want to experience the adventure again, this time in Canada due to my love for hiking in the forest and mountains as well as the friendly people! If Canada makes a big enough impression, I may permanently relocate there as I have friend and family ties! I would describe myself as a swiss army knife, with strong skills in many different areas of hospitality (chef, barista, bartender) and DIY as well as being well travelled across Europe, Asia and North America.

I'm a very flexible, spontaneous person and easily adapt to people with different experiences and mindsets. I'd love to improve my French or German along the way too if there is an opportunity. My nationality is English, German and Filipino and I have a very international extended family.

Some of my past and present hobbies include Scuba Diving, Mountaineering, Cycling, Bouldering, Kayaking, Cooking, Martial Arts, and Piano

3+ Years Experience in a range of Hospitality and Retail roles Chef, Bartender, Barista, Waiter, Checkout Supervisor

Very handy with tools and love doing hobby projects in Woodwork and 3D Printing. Can use all tools from drills to bandsaws.

Founded a seasonal garden/landscaping business doing hedge shaping, stump removal, ground leveling, turf removal, fence installation.
