Hello! Name name is Matthew. I'm a 24 year old artist from Northern California. After quitting my job as a graphic designer/ illustrator last year, I have been traveling around the western US, Western Europe and Mexico. I am currently living in my camper between California and Washington State. While, I still do some illustration work for bands as well as commercial murals, I am shifting my energy to focus primarily on painting.

I would love to stay at a Workaway property where I can learn permaculture techniques, as eventually I would like to have my own land. I am also very interested in engaging with community and meeting new loving and interesting people. I am passionate about helping creating a more localized, compassionate, and love driven society and enjoy taking part in conversations on how to make that happen. An ideal situation for me would be an evniroment where I'm actively contributing to a permaculture project while having the space, freedom, and time to create my own artwork. I am primarily a painter but I also write often and have recently started playing guitar. The few workaway experiences I have engaged in have had a profound impact on my life. In this moment continuing to find more special places to temporary live and make artwork feels the most truthful thing I can do.

I am easy going and enjoy manual labor. Im a quick learner and happy to get uncomfortable trying new things. In addition to art, I love to run, backpack, and be a part of live music.

I am currently looking for a place to stay in the Pacific Northwest. I have a small slide in camper on my Toyota Tacoma pickup and happy to use that as a means to provide my own sleeping accommodations on your property.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am very interested in a wide range of creative and communal projects that take me out of my comfort zone and allow me to learn new skills.

I have many years of professional illustration, graphic design, and creative direction and painting experience. I draw and paint everday and look foward to making a lot of small drawings and paintings of the people and places I encounter! I also have experience painting large scale murals and would love to do one for you:)

I love to work outside gardening, digging holes, and getting my hands dirty. I have a large interest in permaculture and would love to learn how to efficiently grow my own food/ increase surrounding biodiversity as well as helping others do the same.

I do not have any professional carpentry experience, but I would love to learn.

I do know very little Spanish but, would love to learn more, as well as any other languages.

I am very used to being around kids as I grew up with a lot of siblings and younger cousins always around.
