ENG: Hi! My name is Iva, from beautiful Bulgaria. I’m a filmmaker and activist. I’ve lived in Barcelona for the past 5 years and speak fluent Spanish and English. There I’ve been active in climate justice movements like Extinction Rebellion and End Fossil Occupy, where I’ve gathered valuable experience in organizing and living within a community. With my first Workaway trip to Latin America I’m hoping to meet and exchange experiences with local communities, especially those who choose to work towards self-sufficiency through working the earth, as well as those who take it as their purpose to protect and regenerate it. My other motivation is to get to know and honor the land and the ancestral traditions that evolved around it. I have a very strong connection to music and in this sense I’m very eager to get in touch with local folk and healing songs. I bring with me the magical folk songs of Bulgaria. I’m very creative and hard working and I’m hoping to learn more about permaculture and regenerative agriculture, as well as bioconstruction. I love to sing, dance, take pictures, practice yoga, drink tea, and share stories around a fire. I’m a good mediator.

ESP: Hola! Mi nombre es Iva, vengo del precioso país de Bulgaria. Soy cineasta y activista. Llevo los últimos 5 años viviendo en Barcelona y hablo español e inglés fluidos. He participado activamente en movimientos por la justicia climática como Extinction Rebellion y End Fossil Occupy, que me han aportado mucha experiencia en la organización de base y la vida en comunidad. Con este primer viaje de Workaway espero conectar y compartir experiencias con comunidades locales, especialmente las que se proponen ser autosuficientes a través de trabajar la tierra, y las que se comprometen a regenerarla y protegerla. Mi segunda motivación es conocer y honrar los espacios naturales, junto con las tradiciones ancestrales que han surgido alrededor de ellos. Tengo una conexión profunda con la música y me encantaría conocer canciones folclóricas y medicinales. Traigo conmigo las mágicas canciones de Bulgaria. Soy muy creativa y trabajadora y me gustaría aprender sobre la permacultura y la agricultura regenerativa, la bioconstrucción también. Me encanta cantar, bailar, hacer fotos, practicar yoga, tomar infusiones, e intercambiar historias alrededor de un fuego. Soy buena mediadora.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

ENG: I’ve graduated Audiovisual Communication. I can help with anything that requires filmmaking or photography skills. I have experience making promotional content. I speak perfect English and Spanish, so I’m very open to teaching them (as well as Catalan and Bulgarian, if someone happens to be interested). I’m also good at drawing and am a fast learner with all types of crafts.
When it comes to physical work, I’m very motivated about learning to take care of a garden, as I have little experience. I’m open to taking on any job because every skill is valuable. I’m vegan but I don’t mind if you have animals and can help with taking care of them. I enjoy cleaning and taking care of tasks around the house.

ESP: Soy graduada en Comunicación Audiovisual. Puedo ayudar en lo que sea que tenga que ver con eso, si les puede ser útil. Tengo experiencia haciendo material promocional. Hablo español e inglés perfectos, así que encantada de enseñarlos (También el catalán y el búlgaro). También se me da bien dibujar y aprendo rápido cualquier tipo de manualidades.
En cuanto al trabajo físico, me motiva mucho aprender a trabajar el huerto, porque tengo poquita experiencia. Estoy abierta a aprender cualquier labor porque todo es útil. Soy vegana pero no me importa cuidar los animales. También disfruto haciendo la limpieza y labores por la casa.

ENG: I play a bit of ukulele and darbuka (drum), but singing is my main instrument. I'd love to join/ organize jam sessions. I'm interested in learning ancestral healing practices. I love to take walks, hike, swim.

ESP: Toco un poco del ukulele y el darbuka (tambor), pero cantar es mi instrumento preferido. Me encantaría participar en /organizar círculos de tocar y cantar. Estoy interesada en aprender prácticas medicinales. Me encanta pasear, hacer caminatas, nadar.
