Hi there!
My name is Maria, I’m from Porto, Portugal, and when I turned 18 decided not to jump straight into university. Instead, I joined a program that allowed me to travel around Southeast Asia for 6 months – definitely one of the best choices I’ve made so far!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I studied Arts for 3 years, and now I’m planning to follow my passion for Psychology. I love dancing, laughing, talking (especially to strangers), being around kids and animals, drawing, taking photos, and trying out new things – especially those that make life more fun.
I’ve been babysitting three kids on a regular basis, worked in a children’s events organization, and I also teach catechism to little ones in the Catholic Apostolic Church. On the more “party side” of life, I’m a DJ at private events and among friends and according to them, I’m also the one who always brings the party.
Creativity is a big part of who I am because I love painting with watercolors, listening to all kinds of music, meeting new people, and joining different volunteering opportunities whenever I can. Finally I did 3 exchange programs, two in Bilbao, Spain and the other in Riga, Latvia.

On this half-year journey, I hope to learn how to be more independent, make friends with people who think differently from me, support local communities, share new skills with anyone interested, sketch beautiful landscapes, have meaningful conversations about religion and much more along the way.
