Description
Kia ora! My name is Makenzie, and I'm here to help other humans, with the hope of sharing some laughs and making lifelong memories along the way.
I've recently graduated from Boise State University as a Communication major and Sustainability minor. This course load branched from environmental anthropology to conflict management, listening to intercultural communication, and so many more. Additional projects for the university included leading after school STEM education programs for underfunded elementary schools, and even dating as data collecting. Learning truly knows no bounds!
Most of my work experience has been in customer service, ranging from ski-instructing-to-farmers-market-to-serving-tables. I'm a total people person, but find joy in the quiet moments of solitude or shared company as well. Working with kids, people, and the Earth is my primary purpose in life, and may these experiences continue to guide me down the right path.
Led by warmth and wit, I hope to continually gather wisdom from those around me and share some laughs along the way! If our paths overlap, see you soon, and if not, I hope this day is kind to you. Take care :) -

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
One might call me a "Jill of All Trades", or the common one I get is an old-soul. To me, this reads as I've had a bunch of life experience and work hard, but continously seek ways to be a silly goose in the process. As the oldest sibling, I've been a nanny or babysitter since around age 10, and additional experience as a youth ski-instructer and teachers assistant. I've been working with "big kids" as a server/host/food runner/farm hand since around age 14. This reads as patient, playful, genuinely good with kids, adults, finding contentment in the chaos. Additionally, farmhand work (animals, gardens, early mornings, not afraid of dirt or repetition), and barbacking (fast on my feet, good under pressure, can read a room). I also spent my college years studying communication, environmental systems, ecology, and storytelling. This translates to being a passionate writer and communicator, and genuinely curious about people and places rather than just passing through them.
Practically: I show up on time, take direction well, but can work executively and independently when need be. I'll ask questions when I'm truly unsure and need direction, and really enjoy physical work that requires I be on my feet for long hours. In learning by doing, I know how to take accountability, responsibility, and not sweat the small stuff! -

Autres infos...
I love movies, media, and really anything involving the arts or outdoors! I've grown up around a bunch of people, live music, and the mountains and beaches. From skiing to swimming to shenanigans wherever. Cooking and conversations are my safe places, and anything creative that can aide to creating a cozier space for me and others. Cheers!
