Hi, I'm a 23-year-old self-published fantasy author from rural British Columbia, Canada. I love being out in nature and spend much of my time outside working with animals. I grew up on a farm with horses, dogs, cats, and chickens. I love gardening and am very interested in permaculture, sustainable farming, and homesteading! I grew up in a very artsy household and know how to play a smattering of musical instruments, as well as drawing, painting, mask making, and I've dabbled with fibre arts as well.

I have worked on organic farms, horse stables, ranches, historic tourist destinations and spent many years in theatre and participating in performing arts in my hometown. I really enjoy trying new things and expanding my worldview.

I'm a hardworking, contemplative personality and I love learning new things, whether it's a new skill or a piece of history, I will quickly absorb as much information as I can!

I'm looking to learn more about sustainable farming, working with different livestock and animals and immerse myself in new cultures! I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and work hard!

I've been working in the horse industry as a barn manager and assistant trainer for the past year and I'm looking to try something new for the winter as I figure out what I'm going to do next.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Growing up on a farm, I'm no stranger to hard work and being adaptable.
I've helped with building barns, sheds, theatre sets, painting and fixing fences, tagging sheep, branding calves, caring for livestock, photographing sports like barrel racing and archery, and creating social media graphics. I work well on my own or in a team environment and I'm a good self-starter.

I've grown my own vegetable garden for 8 years and worked two seasons for an organic veggie farm in 2019 and 2020. I just spent this summer working part time as a gardener for my local golf course.

I've been a housesitter for about 6-7 years now, taking care of horses, cattle, dogs, cats, sheep and goats.

I've helped a few ranches during branding season for cattle and am comfortable giving vaccines, holding animals for doctoring, and I even once held an alpaca for shearing!

-13 years in live theatre (set decor, assisting set construction, lights, acting, stage managing, props managing)
-Horseback riding in a variety of disciplines including western and english for the past 19 years
-Barn manager from 2023-2024
-Working student and assistant groom in 2019-2020 in NC, USA for Dana Cooke
-Social Media Manager from 2021-present
-Housesitting for 7 years with many return clients
-Assisted in building several sheds, a tiny house and barns on my family's property as well as putting up siding, painting, and cleaning/organizing.

I am not familiar with power saws, chainsaws or axes (for example chopping wood) but I would be happy to learn with some training.
