Hello! I'm taking a gap year after my first year of college to explore my own independence and passions before I set off on the path of the rest of my life. I'll be traveling across Europe starting in September! My overall goal is to become more in-tune with the things that really matter to me and become a more empathetic and enlightened version of myself.

I grew up in Maryland, very close to Washington, DC. I speak English as my native language and I was in a French Immersion program through school so I speak intermediate French. This past year, I was a student at the University of Maryland where I studied Communication, and I would eventually like to go into marketing, internal communications, or public relations. I'm excited to meet new people, explore new places, and watch myself grow into the person I know I can be!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

For official jobs I've held, I have worked in 3 different cafés where I absorbed useful skills and lessons. I have experience in both small/intimate settings where I was able to foster relationships with the customers and large-scale operations where I had to hustle! I'm currently working at a specialty coffee shop and roastery where I'm learning about sustainable practices in the coffee world. I have several years of customer service and hospitality experience and I'm also trained as a barista!

I also have experience looking after the little ones and I love spending time with kids and being playful whenever I can. I've spent a few summers volunteering on farms, and I'm very comfortable working with chickens, goats, rabbits, cows, and horses (as well as all domestic animals). I have some experience with gardening, handiwork, and teaching, and I am a quick learner and eager to learn more!

I absolutely love to ski, but don't often get the opportunity to because of where I live (the only snow we get is slush). I like listening to music whenever I can and I know most chords and love to fingerpick on guitar. A few years ago, I went through a phase of making spoon rings, which I really enjoyed and I would like to get into other kinds of jewelry-making. I also appreciate getting to spend time with animals of all kinds. I'm not much of a sports fan, but I'm currently playing a lot of Pickleball (which is a lot more fun than it sounds)! When I was younger, I was also on a competitive rock climbing team and a fencing team.
