Hi everyone! ☺️

I’m Maddalena, a 30 year old italian with a curious mind, a creative side and a deep love for nature, animals and simple living.

My Workaway journey started in 2023, when I left my job and travelled alone to India. I volunteered on farms and discovered how much I enjoy practical work, simple living and being part of a project where my help has a real purpose. Since then, I’ve returned to India several times and it has become a very special place for me.

I’ve had many different work experiences, including a dairy cow farm, a vegetable greenhouse, hospitality and housekeeping, customer service and tourism in the Italian Dolomites. These experiences have made me adaptable, responsible and comfortable in different environments.

I’m calm, independent and fairly quiet. I can be shy at first, but once I feel comfortable I’m friendly and connect well with people. I’m respectful of other people’s space, attentive to details and not afraid of hard work or getting my hands dirty. If you show me how you like something to be done, I’ll do my best to do it properly.

I have experience with gardening, cleaning and animals, especially chickens, cats, ducks and turkeys. I’m also happy to learn how to work with larger animals.

I love photography, sewing and making things with my hands. I can use a sewing machine and I enjoy creating and editing photos and videos. During my latest time in India, I also started exploring a personal project involving sustainable clothing made from Indian textiles.

Through Workaway I’d love to find a peaceful place surrounded by nature, ideally with animals, where I can stay for a while, become part of everyday life, truly help and learn new skills 🥰

My native language is Italian and my English is around B1 level. It’s not perfect, but I can communicate and I’m really motivated to improve it through everyday life.

I may not be the loudest person in the room, but I’m someone you can rely on. I’d rather show that through my actions than simply tell you.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Over the years I have worked in many different environments, so I have developed a mix of practical, creative and people related skills. I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty, and I’m always happy to learn something new.

🌱 Gardening and outdoor work. 
I have worked in a greenhouse growing vegetable plants, and during my previous volunteering experiences in India I helped with gardening, planting seeds and fruit plants and general farm tasks. I can help with vegetable gardens, watering, planting, cutting grass and basic outdoor maintenance.

🐄 Animals and farm life
. I have worked for some weeks on a dairy cow farm and I’m comfortable around animals. I can help with feeding, cleaning and basic everyday care. I don’t have much experience with all the farm's animals, so I would need some guidance at first, but I would be very happy to learn.

🏡 Housekeeping and everyday tasks. 
I have professional housekeeping experience, so I’m comfortable with cleaning and taking care of the home.

🧵 Creative and manual work
. I really enjoy working with my hands. I can use a sewing machine and I’m interested in fabrics and handmade creations. I’m currently exploring a personal project around sustainable clothing made with indian colorful textiles.
Ceramics is another hobby, especially making small pieces of jewellery with porcelain, such as rings and earrings. I also enjoy simple painting and manual tasks, and I’m always curious to learn new practical or creative skills.

📷 Photography and social media
. I enjoy photography, creating and editing photos and videos for social media. I do this just as a hobby, but I’d be happy to use my creativity to help with simple content if needed.

🤝 Hospitality & working with people. 
I have worked in tourism, retail, customer service and a sports center, so I’m used to interacting with different people even if I'm a shy person. But I'm responsible and very patient.

I wouldn’t describe myself as an expert in everything. But what I can offer is a genuine willingness to help and learn. I listen carefully to instructions, take my responsibilities seriously and try to do things properly.

If you show me what needs to be done, I’ll do my best to learn quickly and become someone you can rely on 😊
