I am motivated to be a Workawayer because I think in order for a person to reach their full intellectual and emotional potential, they must experience ways of life that are different from their home country. I think if more people were familiar with the cultures of other families and countries, the world would be far more communal and welcoming.

The think in my life that truly brings me the most fulfillment in life is music. Regardless of how I'm feeling, music always improves my mood and I find it incredibly engaging when I'm in a creative mood. I hope to continue my passion for music wherever I am in the world.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I enjoy working with children and young people. I have experience as a stage hand at my community youth theater helping children of various ages with creative projects.

I have been playing music for as long as I can remember. First on piano, then drums, and most recently guitar. My main instrument is drum set with a focus in swing and Latin jazz. For the last five years, I have been involved with a local jazz ensemble (The Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco) and as the drummer of the jazz ensemble at school. It has been my responsibility to mentor the younger drummers in these ensembles. As a workawayer, I hope to continue my musical passion.

Other passions of mine are visual art and cooking. I primarily work with graphite, ink, and watercolor and I'm skilled at portraits and figure drawing. I went vegan when I was 11 and thus had to learn to cook for myself. I have numerous recipes I can cook from memory now and a familiarity with various cuisines and spices as well as decent knife skills. I am currently working for a local restaurant making burritos and cleaning the kitchen.

I know how to clean and use various yard tools and I have many years of experience caring for pets including dogs and chickens. I have a strong work ethic and a desire to grow my skillset.

I love to read and watch films. Some of my favorite authors are Franz Kafka, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Frank Herbert. My favorite films are In the Mood for Love, Before Sunrise, and Life is Beautiful. I also love horror movies!
