Description
Hello! I’m Louis. Im 23 years old and originally from Belgium.
My native language is Dutch, but I’m fluent in English and can manage just fine in French.
In June I graduated from uni as an Architectural Engineer in Brussels. I’m currently travelling through South America in the hopes of improving my Spanish and experience the life here.
I’m on workaway to extend my travels and find interesting people and work.
My experience:
- hospitality: during my studies I worked in a bar for 8 years. Also in a restaurant and a coffeeshop.
- practical work: during summer I worked on festivals, either in assisting the setup or during the festival itself.
- childcare: I tutored mathematics to high school children. Both online and in real life.
- Languages: Dutch (Mother Tongue), English (Fluent), French (good) and Spanish (beginner).
- extra: I love reading, I’m extremely fond of cooking and eating! Especially learning new recipes (and ofcourse enjoying them afterwards). Music, nature, cities and architecture!
Motivation: what motivated me to embark on this journey is the chance to live as much as possible as locals and learn from them. Hence this workaway profile. I love learning about new cultures and their way of living and get out of my comfortzone.
As a worker i enjoy working hard and fullfilling jobs. I don’t shy away from a thougher job. I adore teamwork, but can also find myself in tasks alone.
As a person I’m quite social, although it might not seem at first. I’m very giving and caring for the people around me. I like being around people, but having some space for my own is sometimes just as valuable.
Lastly, I’m open minded and love sharing a lot!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
As an Architectural Engineer I know a lot of structural problems, although moslty theoretical :).
I worked in several bars during my studies and love hard work. Helped in festivals with the buildup and during the festival itself too.
Also did some office jobs so can work with a computer.

The location is amazing, so many things to do and see and the view from the house in incredible!
The work can be quite challenging, sanding floors or scraping paint, but you can also do other things and the jobs are part of renovating a house sustainably.

A proper amount of food was given for the stay and they helped me reach the cabin by picking me up and bringing me back, which was very kind.
The dogs are very sweet and the accomodation is very pretty. The amount of expected work is very reasonable.
