Hi!

I am currently on my gap year after completing A levels, and will, after my year out, go on to study History and Politics at Warwick University.

I am an 18-year-old guy from Cornwall, England (right at the bottom of England if you’re curious).

I’m looking to travel across Europe, and further afield, during my year out, spending the rest of 2026 in Europe, and moving further afield into 2027. I’m super keen to travel and see the world, meet new people, experience different cultures, and eat good food on my year out, and am big on the idea of communal/ alternative lifestyles – my father has spent a lot of time living and working on biodynamic/ organic communes, and I have spent some time on such places as well, and love them.

My father is German; I understand the language, and speak some, but would love to improve my speaking ability – I’d also love to learn other languages while travelling, even if just a few words.

As you may have been able to tell, food is a big passion of mine: I am an enthusiastic home-chef, and love to learn about different food cultures. I think food can be a great way to connect with other people and to share love!

Some of my other hobbies include playing football, surfing, trail-running and hiking, and caring for my four rescued ex-battery chickens.

I’m completely happy to get stuck in with whatever tasks are set in front of me, even if I have to get my hands dirty, and am always willing to learn from those with more, or different, experience.

I'm aware that I currently have no references, as this is my first time on Workaway, however, if needed, I have references from the restaurant that I have worked at for a year, or from my college. Let me know if this is something you'd like and I will be more than happy to provide.
