Description

I’m Lorena a positive person with a big heart who loves connecting with people, being outside and giving back to community and environment.

Last year, I made the exciting decision to move to Colombia 🇨🇴 which I now happily call home. Living in community, surrounded by nature and tranquility.

Right now, I am taking a little break, discovering what it means for me to combine work with my personal values and how I could bring my vision of life into reality. For that, I am currently travelling from Colombia, through Ecuador towards Peru - taking space for myself, whilst looking forward contributing to beautiful projects.

I have been lucky to travel and volunteer starting from a young age with NGOs and different volunteer projects, gathering amazing experiences along the way - before discovering (and just recently starting to use) this platform. I always loved the cultural exchanges, and since moving to Colombia, I have started to realise what truly matters for me to live a fulfilling and purposeful life.

I am dreaming of buying my own land / farm in Colombia in the recent years, building my self-sustaining house. For that and beyond, I have a great interest in deepening my knowledge in agriculture, permaculture, eco-construction, self-sustainability. With Workaway, I am looking for new experiences, skill exchanges, learning and connecting with great people, not for a free stay 🙂

I am very excited to learn, dive into new task and among others contribute with my already gathered skills towards:

- gardening / planting
- hospitality (e.g. operations, reception)
- cooking / house care
- painting
- community projects
- content writing (e.g. storytelling, blogs, websites)
- translation (eng, ger, esp)
- business development
- web development & social media
- photography (hobby, I love capturing special moments)

With my experience traveling to different countries, cultures, and work environments, I have learned to adapt quickly to new places. Which helps me getting involved right away and be helpful from the start.

After a fulfilling day, I love to relax by the fire, cook, play guitar, practice yoga, dive into a good book, or have meaningful conversations. I’m also interested in learning more about native / ancestral plants and native traditions. Specially taking care and protecting this ancient knowledge is very close to my heart.

Spending time with positive people who enjoy sharing their stories, connecting on eye level, and are warm-hearted and fun brings me a lot of joy and life quality.

In my freetime, you would find me in nature, walking, hiking, exploring or simply sitting outside, enjoying the sunset. But (most definitely) practicing my Spanish, as this is my biggest aim to become & every help is well received.

I come with a big smile & open heart, looking forward to contribute to your project in a positive way.

Thanks to my German side, I am very reliable, well organized and if there is something - I may not know, I am not shy to ask.

I deeply appreciate people who open their homes and share parts of their lifes to different cultures and people from all over the world. For me, treating your home with the same care and respect as my own is something that comes without saying.
