Description

Hi! My name is Loïs, I’m 24 years old and from Utrecht, the Netherlands. Last April I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Biology, where I focused on wildlife conservation, ecology, and animal behavior, all of which are close to my heart.

While these fields are a big passion of mine, my greatest passion is traveling. Whether it’s connecting with fellow travelers or locals, I love meeting new people and immersing myself in different cultures. My favorite way to experience this is by exploring the world on my own.

For me, solo travel is a beautiful way to let go of past versions of myself that no longer fit, and to create space for whoever I'm inspired to be during my travels. The sense of freedom and aliveness it brings is something I’ll never stop chasing :)

I’m very interested in learning new languages! The one I’d most like to learn right now is Spanish, but I’d also love to improve my German and French, as it’s been a few years since I studied them in school. Of course, for anyone who’s interested, I’d be more than happy to speak Dutch with you or teach you anything I know :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As for my practical skills, I’ve always enjoyed helping my mom with hands-on projects around the house, like building benches, working on our rooftop terrace, painting, and doing small repairs. I’m comfortable using tools like a drill and sander, I might be a bit out of practice, but I’m always happy to get back into it again.

Last summer, I spent five weeks volunteering in an organic garden in Switzerland, where I learned a lot about organic agriculture and really enjoyed working outdoors and with nature.

I’ve also been the department head of a homework support program at an NGO, where I developed strong organizational skills, took on responsibility, and learned how to guide and support others.

I enjoy being creative from time to time. Occasionally, I like to paint or sew, and I’d love to learn crochet next. I also enjoy cleaning and decluttering, and I regularly keep my own home tidy. I truly believe that a clear space creates a clear mind.

Lastly, I’ve been babysitting since I was 12, starting with kids in my neighborhood. Nowadays, I occasionally take care of my two lovely nephews, who I absolutely adore.
