Hiya! During my travels I am really keen to integrate into the local communities, away from common tourist spots, to get a real feel for the countries I am visiting. I also have an environmental background and so am passionate about helping with eco projects along the way- whether that be sharing my own knowledge or learning about new ideas! For these reasons, Workaway seems like a great opportunity for me to do these things and I am super excited at the idea

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
In terms of academic qualifications, I have a masters by research in Global Environmental Challenges, during which I completed a study on plastic pollution. Waste management is my key area of interest/ expertise and since I also volunteered in Malawi where I helped set up and run a local project building eco-bricks out of old plastics.
During this time I also worked alongside a local eco lodge and assisted them in improving their waste management system, including creating a new separation system for guest room bins.
I have also worked as a teaching assistant for over 5 years now, predominantly at a special needs school, where I was regularly in charge of setting up and organising activities for children across a wide range of ages. I have also completed my TEFL qualification!
At the beginning of this year, I also worked as a rep for a snowsports holiday company, which required me to greet, assist and support guests throughout their trip.

I really enjoy cooking for others and also learning new recipes!
I also love being creative, in particular upcycling and creating new things from old objects.
Although I do not practice it often, I am also keen to learn more about yoga and meditation whilst on my travels.
