Hello Hosts,
We’re Clara and Lars, a couple from Germany, excited to join Workaway and explore Southeast Asia and immerse ourselves in the local culture
We know we are lucky to travel this far and we would like to help in any way we can - whether it's assisting with daily tasks, teaching English, working with animals, or contributing to building and farming projects. Clara is studying Physics, and Lars is studying Finance, and we’re currently on a study break, keen to learn new skills.
We alrady joined one workaway and learned a lot about the Indonesian culture and people, it was an incredible opurtunity for us to teach english, sports and physics to the children.
This journey is not only a chance to experience the beauty of your country but also a chance to learn from you and to support your community and build meaningful connections!

Learning and being able to speak other languages is an amazing way to show respect to different cultures and people and creates a special bond since it is something you and other people share. To us, learning from native or fluent speakers and teaching our own native language is certainly a goal we want to pursue.

Autres infos...
Some brief words about our experiences so far. Clara is a physics student nearly done with her bachelors and she worked at a lot of festivals and concerts. Lars finished a traineeship in a bank and studied for one year but neither really matched his interests. It is our first volunteering experience which means we are full of energy and enthusiasm. Both of us are drawn to Asia for a long time because of it’s beautiful landscapes, diverse cultures and stories from several friends about their unique experiences and we’d like to experience this firsthand!

The staff there was super caring and funny (and sometimes a bit crazy haha) even though communication was mostly with your hands or with Google Translate, but it worked well.
