Description
I’m a keen traveller looking to get some more lived experience of the countries I am visiting. I’ve always been motivated to see more of the world, working to save to travel from the age of 18 and seeing some incredible places across Europe, Asia, South America and North America whilst backpacking. I now want to see more but do it slower - taking more time to get to know the people, culture and areas I’m visiting!
I’m really into the outdoors and love trying new sports and adventures. I love getting involved and trying something new! At the moment, I’m spending a lot of time swimming, hiking and running (city and trail) and play netball with a local team. I’m keen to keep this up as I travel and would love to take on some fitness challenges.
I'm big into vegetarian and pescetarian cooking, and have even spent time creating an online cookbook in Canva with me and my housemate's favourite recipes. I'd love to try out new food and techniques. I’m also crafty and creative and love thinking about the best way to make a cool gift or new thing for the house - my online cooking book being a good example of this. Most recently on my travels, I got into some wooden linocut in Mexico!
I’m currently taking a sabbatical from my job as a Civil Service Economist at the UK Department for Education in London, where I spend lots of time thinking about how to improve the education experience for kids and adults in the UK. I also spent most of my teenage years working in my family’s childminding business - looking after kids from 1-12 and as my wider family has grown I’ve spent lots of time looking after the younger kids- most recently organising a full two week work (and London) experience for my 17 year old cousin.
