Hey,
I'm Kim, 20 years old, and starting my first big solo travel to Asia and Oceania.
I would describe myself as an open-minded and humorous person who loves to step out of her comfort zone and experiencing new things. This includes getting to know different ways of life and cultures as well as meeting lots of amazing people on my journey!
When I was 16 years old I did an exchange year in Canada living with a host family and going to school there.
My passions are sports (yoga, karate, bouldering, horseback riding), art (drawing a lot), music (playing piano), photography and meditation.
Furthermore, I love hanging out with friends, doing fun activities, or playing games. Being in nature and around animals brings me happiness and peace.
I hope I will get to know you soon!Centres d’intérêt

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
For a better overview I've listed my skills:
• creative: Since I'm little I loved drawing. Now I especially love to draw realistic animals (sometimes human portraits as well) as I pay great attention to details. I also like to draw with different materials and in different surfaces, e.g. I also sprayed art on a surf board.
• taking care for children: I volunteered twice in a summer camp, looking after the kids and doing fun activities with them.
• gardening: As my dad has a dacha (little weekend house) in the woods, I'm used to help in the garden, growing vegetables, cutting bushes, weeding, watering, planting and constructing any new projects.
• crafting: During my exchange year in Canada I took a wood working class in school, build a picture frame, a wooden box and a paddle. I also build an enclosure for my bunnies in the garden. In one of my workaways I also crafted posts for a temporary school building.
• photography: Since my travels I started taking pictures mainly from landscapes but also of people. I enjoy taking pictures and editing them afterwards with Lightroom, I can teach some of my editing skills to you as well.
If you'd like I can take pictures of your place or family etc. for memories or advertisements :)
• cooking: I love to cook (with friends, for myself or for my family) and eager to learn new recipes from your culture.
• knowledge about social media: As I draw a lot I used to have an art account (currently not actively posting anymore) and therefore, could also help you with your social media account if needed.
• workaway experiences:
My first workaway was living with a family in Nepal, emersing myself in their culture and experiencing their daily life as well as celebrating two festivals with them together! I helped them with general maintenance.
My second workaway was working on a sunset cruise in Laos. I was welcoming guests, working at the bar giving out drinks and snacks, getting in contact with guest and explaining an old Lao tradition we did every day on the cruise, cleaning tables and after the cruise distributing and marketing flyers on the night market.
In January and February I was volunteering for the organisation All Hands and Hearts, building a school along side the local masons in the Philippines for 1,5 months. I was working from 5am until 6pm, Monday to Saturday (only until 12am), learning lots of new skills in construction such as tieing rebar, pouring and mixing cement, woodworking, working with Bamboo, painting, landscaping, planting plants etc. I also helped creating a mural on the school wall (you can see it in one of the pictures).
In my recent workaway I was caring for two lovely dogs in Kerikei, New Zealand, as well as helping around the garden and cooking meals for everyone.
In my last workaway I was helping on a big property near Whangarei, planting trees such as Kanuka and Manuka, maintaining the orchard and potting new plants.
I‘m a fast learning person and open to learn new skills. I‘m also not afraid to get myself dirty. Where's the fun without dirt? ;)Âge

Autres infos...
I love to play board games and cards, e.g. Uno, Kniffel, Mensch ärger dich nicht, Rummikub, etc. Open and excited to learn any new games.
I usually do yoga every morning, meditate everyday, draw whenever I've got time, read books, meet with friends, going for a walk to ease my mind, exploring nature or cities.
Moreover, I do karate for 12 years as my father has an own karate school in Germany. I also play the piano for 10 years (would love to practice a bit if you have a piano) and taking care for a horse (used to ride as well, but not much anymore due to the young age of the horse I'm taking care of now. I'm doing lots of groundwork with her, including Horsemanship, Equikinetic, tricks, etc.).
Recently I started learning surfing in Indonesia and the Philippines. I'm always open for going surfing together. At the moment I'm learning to surf without an instructor, positioning and catching waves on my own.Informations complémentaires

While here, she was a pleasure to have around the house and was a willing and able helper.
Mainly, we had her planting trees which a few other odd jobs as well.
I would highly recommend Kim to anyone planning to take on a workawayer.
I originally planed to stay for one week, which also happened to be very spontaneous and I was able to come the same day I messaged them.
The task were quite different, I mostly helped with planting native trees, but also trimmed… read more
In the morning I was working 5 hours together with other workawayers, planting native trees and plants, potting offshoots for the next year and moving wood. Mike was giving us instructions on how to properly plant trees which was a great way to learn more about planting and growing things… read more
Thank you for everything!
