Dreaming of owning a small farm with sheep and I'm traveling the world to see all the ways people keep their flocks!

Description

I work as an actor, but I also spend half my year away from the film industry, learning about bio-construction, keeping sheep, cheese-making, beekeeping, ranching, biodynamic farming and anything related to living on the land in preparation for owning my own little ranch. I'm definitely not an agricultural or building expert, but I'm excited to get dirty, work hard and I learn fast!

I'm originally from BC, Canada. I speak fluent English and my father was Chilean so I also speak some Spanish. I love animals and kids and would be happy spending all my time with those beings.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I just farm-sat for a friend during lambing season so I'm much more familiar with sheep now. I also worked on a natural horsemanship ranch in Chiapas for 3 months in 2021 (my first experience with WorkAway) and my father owns a hobby farm, so I'm familiar with:

- cleaning stalls
- assisting with lambing
- feeding animals
- chopping wood
- tending to a garden
- harvesting (fruit trees especially)
- weeding, mulching, general landscaping
- turning compost
- I can drive standard
- I'm a decent rider
- I like mending, cooking, fermentation projects
- making sausages, jerky and meat pies
- I'm very good at cleaning and organizing
- I have experience with childcare and farmer's markets as well

I'm not super familiar with power tools (although, I've run a chainsaw a few times) and I'm definitely not a carpenter. But I love learning, researching, working hard and getting dirty so I'm happy to assist on any fencing/building projects.
