Description

I am Kasia, I am passionate about everything food, health, nutrition, yoga and arts related. I love to ski, snowboard, and do yoga ( I teach all as well). I paint, make jewellery, crochet and cook. I travel a lot and love making friends from different countries and cultures. I am a foodie and love to share my passion. I like to spend time actively and socially but also love sunbathing and spending chill quality time with a book. I love to exchange knowledge and experiences. People say I am an old soul - even though I am 27.

Since I started travelling as a kid with my parents I learned about the value of knowing and speaking foreign languages. The ability to communicate and connect abroad gives many opportunities and opens many doors. Throughout the years, I studied several languages, lived in different countries, and made many friends. I speak Polish, English and some German, Italian and Dutch. I would like to share my knowledge, passion and experiences.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I work since I turned 16, I worked some weekend and holiday jobs such as animator, ski and yoga teacher, gym staff, waitress, barista, tour guide, and caregiver on camps for kids. I also had some more 'serious' experiences in product development, social media, hr and creative fields.

I finished high school in Poland and at 18 moved to the Netherlands to pursue a double Bachelor's in International Food Business. In the meantime, I did a couple of internships and jobs in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. I am planning to do a master's degree but still looking for a perfect fit for my interests.

I have traveled since I remember, starting with family trips, then volunteering experiences and solo travels, and with friends. I visited most countries in Europe and some Canada, north of Africa and some islands around. I would love to visit more places, learn about other cultures, food, and languages, make friends, and memories and gain new skills.

I spent 2,5 months with the family between September and November 2022. And to put it in just a few words, it totally met my expectations. I met the whole family of 5 and a lot of workawayers – over 13 during my whole stay. I made amazing friendships with some of them and got to island hop with a group of friends I made there. Steve has a strong desire to be a mentor and he enjoys teaching and sharing. He is very open to discussion and exchanging feedback. He likes to talk and spend time with his guests. He is very accommodating to guests’ requests and work preferences. Whether it was him choosing the right people to stay together or the type of people that applied for this workaway, it was a great fit of personalities that went really well together. You need to remember to set your boundaries and not be afraid to communicate openly since it’s a community vibe lifestyle.
The location is pretty remote so transport is not super easy but there are couple bikes to use and Steve is happy to take you anywhere he goes. He helps to get to the beach and can pick you up on the way. It is handy to have a car when you stay there – some of the guests that stayed during the same time bought one and it gave us a lot of freedom to drive around. He can also give you tips on how to surf and provide you with different surfboards!
The preference for long-term guests is understandable as it takes time to bond with kids, Steve and other workawayers. During the stay, I got to work on many different tasks including organizing space, cleaning, cooking, house chores, painting, and hemming. There is space for plenty more activities with kids and without. At Steve’s home, you can also find different instruments (guitars, ukuleles and keyboard piano), art supplies, countless books and a sewing machine.
Definitely join this workaway if you love quality family time, eating and hanging out together, becoming an older brother or sister to Steve’s kids, and spending time on the beach and in nature. If you are open-minded, drama-free, mature and assertive you are definitely going to fit in.
Even though we went through a lot during the stay I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and I feel blessed for having become a part of the family. I got to spend my first American Halloween and thanksgiving day with the community that Steve built in Kauai and I can’t wait to meet them all again one day.
