Description

I'm Jules and I am a 24 year old from Los Angeles, California! I spent 4 years living on the beautiful island of Oʻahu in Hawai'i, where I completed my degree from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in May 2022. I studied political science and geography; getting me involved in activism and community organizing in Hawai'i and globally. Living in Hawai'i has also expanded my love for nature even further, and I can usually be found enjoying the ocean or mountains.

I have been traveling/Workawaying full time since July of 2022, working part time remotely for a nonprofit/NGO based in Hawaiʻi where I work as the communications/administrative coordinator. I am a fast learner and excellent communicator. I have experience with hospitality, nannying, domestic work, administration, bartending, and teaching. Throughout my 1.5 years using Workaway I have worked at hostels, English speaking academies, homestays, and even a vineyard/winery during the grape harvest. I have found that my favorite Workaway experiences are those where I am in community with other travelers and locals alike; learning about different culture in interesting places. I also love working outside or with people in conjunction with working remotely because it provides me with a fulfilling balance.

I am motivated to Workaway after graduating college because I want to connect with people from all over the world and learn about different cultures. Some other things that bring me happiness are serving my community, swimming in the ocean, learning cool geography facts, and cooking vibrant meals.

I have experience working in hostels and at an English speaking club. My main professional training is in research, writing, and community organizing. I am a people person and love work where I can connect with many different people. I have experience in nannying, customer service, database management, gardening, cooking and more.
