I have an environmental science degree and hope to use this to further explore the world and expand my knowledge. This means I love nature and want to conserve it as best as I possibly can. I hope to be doing a masters in the near future, but at this moment in time I want to learn Spanish and understand more about other cultures around the world.
Rachel:
I'm an Occupational Therapist in normal life, and have been a nanny for multiple families for over 10 years. I'm really interested in being in nature, getting outdoors, learning Spanish and making connections with people. I've lived remotely before for two years, on an aboriginal island off the coast of Australia. I miss this kind of living and would love to get back to it! I love to cook for and with others, as I feel this is one of the best ways to get to know people and their culture. I'm also a big lover of animals and have a dog back home (who I miss dearly) so if you have dogs or animals- I am more than happy to walk/feed/love them!
In a nutshell- fires, swimming, cooking and dogs = happy Rachel.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Science Communication: and I have developed written information and presented it using powerpoint and other audio visual methods. I am an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
Lab work: was a key component of my course and I focussed on air pollution, properties of water, radiation, soil composition, identifying environmental hazards such as pesticides, heavy metals and other pollutants. One study was focussed on testing soil composition and identifying microbes and their role.
IT skills: I am proficient in GIS mapping, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical programmes such as SPSS, and am able to use Word.
My most significant fieldwork experience during my degree was a tropical expedition to Madagascar, where, as part of a team, I designed and carried out a project to investigate lemur behaviour.
I have worked as a chef for 4 years and I developed the essential skills needed to work as part of a kitchen team (cooking cleaning etc.)

I'm a keen snowboarder, love board games and anything particularly nerdy.(drinking games are also fun). obviously I love to travel. I'm very fond of motorbikes and do like mountain biking. I have an interest in climbing, but am a little afraid of heights. I love to scuba dive and have a PADI. My main concern at the moment is learning another language.
