Hello everyone!
I am Jana, originally from Germany, but currently based in Switzerland. I am a curious person that loves to learn and discover new things and places :) Having real connections with people, being touched by art and beautiful things, as well as immersing deeply into a task, brings me joy and happiness. I am an outgoing and social person, but I also like moments of quiet and comtemplation. In my free time, I love dancing (especially forró, a dance from Brazil), reading, enjoying the sunshine and having inspiring conversations with any kind of people.
I will be on a career switch (soul searching included ;)), and would like to use this oppurtunity to visit South America for the first time. When I travel, I like to travel slowly and I think workaway is a great opportunity to do so. This will be my first time as a workawayer, and I would love to get a more authentic view on the country I am visiting and emerge in its culture, while at the same time helping the community and have a positive impact. :)

I'm happy to teach German (my mother tongue) and English! I love learning new languages and happy in learning any language really :) At the moment, I am starting to learn Portuguese.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I am fluent in German, English, French and Mandarin (only speaking though, not writing). I also speak Russian on an intermediate level.
I have experiences in event organization (conferences, job fairs, panels etc.). In the past, I have also taught German to refugees and helped underpriviliged children with private lessons during the pandemic. In Russia and Germany, I volunteered for a while in homeless shelters. Some years ago, I worked on a farm in France. I also have some experiences in journalism (newspaper and radio) and am good in writing.
My educational background is in engineering, so I could also help with some techy things :)
