Hello there! This is Jaime Villalaín, from Valencia, Spain.

I am a student at Valencia University. I’m majoring in German and German literature.
I love socializing and making the most out of my life!

I am humble, healthy, fun, and kind.

I have used Workaway twice, so far. Using this platform, I have visited Carinthia (Austria) and Frankfurt (Germany). Both times I worked at farms. I enjoyed these adventures very much.

I am a long-distance runner. Running is my passion. I have run countless races. At this point, I have honestly lost count of how many. I’ve completed 5Ks, 7Ks, 10Ks, 15Ks, 21Ks.

Now, my PBs are the following (km/minute):
5K: 00:17:32 / 03:30
10K: 00:36:36/ 03:40
15K: 00:57:32 / 03:50
21K: 01:21:47 / 03:52

I’m interested in improving my German. I just passed the A2 exam. I admit that I still have a long way to go with the German language, so I want to work on this. I’m majoring in German and German literature at the University of Valencia. I’m fluent in English. I lived in Cork (Munster province, Ireland) for 9 months. I have taught English both in-person and online. I am minoring in English and English literature, too. I feel comfortable teaching this language. I hasten to add I have also worked as a Spanish teacher, a language of which I am a native speaker. I have a C1 level of Valencian (Catalan). In the past, I also learned the basics of Esperanto, an artificial language created by L. Zamenhof).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I can speak Spanish and Catalan exceedingly well. My English is also excellent.

I have a very good understanding of Spanish and Catalan in terms of grammar, morphology and syntax. I can also speak a little Esperanto (Zamenhof's artificial language).

I have practised martial arts for over a decade, especially Karate! I love longboarding, too. I also like rollerblading at skateparks. I enjoy running outdoors as well as hiking.

I'm also quite a cinephile! (Peter Weir's Dead Poets Society will always be one of my favourite movies, although I like many other movie genres, also).

I'm also into skiing!

I have worked as a leisure and free-time monitor at summer camps in the past.

I went on my first workaway experience in the summer of 2022. I worked at an organic farm in Carinthia, Austria. I learned many useful farm skills like how to milk the goats and the cows, how to feed them and how to take care of all the animals in every way. A farm is an ecosystem! I learned all there is to know about the tasks that one is supposed to carry out in such places. It was a positive experience which I greatly enjoyed!
