Originally from Earth (Michigan USA). Mostly am seeking active/outdoor work, balanced with exchanges of art, music, dance, food, politics, media, family, history, etc...open to a lot! I enjoy having my boundaries challenged, but also easy-going fun, creativity, and attunement. Love to engage with all senses, and I'm super passionate about food production/environmental conservation.

During this time I'll also be working remote 20hrs per week as a Research Technician with the Cornell Soil & Water Lab (https://soilandwaterlab.cornell.edu/). It's super flexible timing, aside from 1 weekly meeting.

Last but not least, I love being in/near water :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Working with animals (intermediate) - Very comfortable/happy around farm animals but not the most knowledgeable. I've cared for dogs, cats, horses, beef cattle, chickens, ducks, and goats. Comfortable handling fish.

Farm operations (intermediate) - This has been mostly from an engineering/research perspective with work/school: pesticide monitoring, manure management, fertlizier application, and some other topics. But I don't have much hands-on experience in actual farming or gardening. I really want to change that and learn a lot here. Very comfortable/happy getting dirty outside.

Land/waste management (intermediate) - Have spent time weedwhacking, lawn mowing, trail creating, tree planting, and cleaning up brush for parks/cemeteries. I also have helped organizations to remove invasive plants/collect native plant seeds, and I worked at a wastewater treatment plant doing water lab analysis and equipment maintenance. Have spent some time foraging for food/resources and would love to do more.

Water navigation (intermediate) - I'm very comfortable swimming and am a certified FII Level 1 freediver as of June 2023. Since then, I have spent lots of time recreationally freediving in freshwater and ocean environments. I am also comfortable operating boats and paddle vessels, but not the most experienced. I love water!!!

Coding/Software/Computers (proficient) - I've spent more time than I would've hoped on computers, mostly through coding (Python, MATLAB, R, Java) for statistical analysis, machine learning, and biological modeling. I'd love to help with any computer projects, or teach to anyone who is interested.

Basketball (intermediate) - I would love to help train anyone for basketball (or just play for fun). I played for much of life and reached the junior college level in the US. I have coached youth players of all ages and genders.

Other manual labor (novice) - I've done some basic construction, carpentry, painting, but very inexperienced. I am abled/willing to help with these projects though.

Child care (intermediate) - I have younger cousins and a 2 year old niece that I've watched over the years. Definitely more comfortable with ages 5+ but I have some sense with babies/toddlers.

Cooking (intermediate) - I really enjoy this, but I am no master chef. Would gladly help with meals and can cook alone if needed.

Housecare (intermediate) - Willing/able to do regular house chores, i.e. vacuuming, mopping, dishes, sweeping, cleaning, laundry, etc
